"Due to the current COVID-19 environment in the world, the World Series of Poker announced today that all 2020 WSOP events this summer will be conducted as online events only, including the $10,000 entry Main Event."

"Details will be released shortly, once software and payment logistics have been finalized with WPT-Online and Paypal "

"The WSOP is excited about this new stage of events, and is expecting a record number of registrations for the fifth consecutive year."

hmm. The WSOP software platform is well known for being terrible. I struggle to think they could either handle the volume much less the entire series of events such as a $1500 big bet mix game. The software will get crushed and destroy the brand if they try to pull this off. Maybe a much smaller event slate and capped entry could help the effort. But the scale of this digitally they are ill prepared for esp on such out dated software.
