I'm currently working on a web mold hybrid chip design for 39mm chips for casual/family home game.

The chips are overall based off the L'Auberge Lake Charles chips with the colors and edge spots so I'm trying to work out good French names that would work out.

This is what I have so far for the design. Would love some feedback. Haven't worked on the compression spots on the rolling edge yet.

The design look nice.

I will need to find out how to make sure the label on the 5 is put upside down like in the tender so make the edge spots line up they way. Looks much better.

Well - let me say - you asked.

I love the Inlay, the colors, the theme, , the background color and printing, the overall look, it is a great manipulation of negative space.

(for me - I might be in the minority - but I normally dont like a cursive or script style of font. Although, the font you are using is that not that much of a cursive font - its just me - I have difficulty reading cursive - when all the letters are connected)

Now - to the edge spots.

This is where I like to challenge people. Since these are being printed, you do not have to stick to the old trope of Edge spot progression, no extra costs exists to use less boring edge spots patterns.

Expand your choices, make use of that materials and technology that is being used. You can use more interesting Edge Spots, once reserved for high value chips. Also you can pick different combinations of colors for the edge spots. like the 8V for example, in the Paulson builder it is built with 2 different colors - well again, because of the technology being used to make these chips you can pick 4 colors if you want. The balance and locations of these edge spots is essentially unlimited with the choice and color combos. If the CPC or Paulson builder only allows a limited number or choices of color options on a chip - that does not mean you are limited - you can include many different color options and locations.

These are for you -so the choice is yours (but once you get these - you have them - so make them the best you can right now)

Anyway - this is my feedback - as I like to say - Your Mileage may vary.

In the design tool you can rotate the chip to your liking and submit it to CPC that way and you should be good to go. I would mention it as well when sending it in. You can't over communicate enough.

That dark green will look very similar to black except in optimal lighting. I would consider using a different shade of green if u don't want it to look black.

These are going to be made through Tina, web mold hybrid so it will have labels. I could rotate the chip face no problem but don’t know how to do the rolling edge to make sure it lines up.

Yeah Im working on the green a bit to make it not just appear black. I know it will be close and wouldn’t be the end of the world since the $25 l’auberge chip it’s based on IS black for those edge spots, I’m still trying to be a little different.

Yeah I didn’t want to go with anything that was too much of a cursive font because I agree it can be a bit busy.

Ultimately, especially in regards to the edge spots, these are a bit of a tribute chip to the l’auberge lake Charles chips so that’s why I’m sticking with that type of layout.

In the future I will be taking advantage of going able to do whatever I want, like a bud jones of chipco style deal.

If you have face and matching rolling edge art, rotating the face won’t matter, Tina will make sure it aligns.
If you haven’t been using the chip and edge art template from Eightywon, you should definitely check it out. Many edgespot and matching rolling edge art:

I’ll check that out, thanks.

But ultimately I can rotate the face and it doesn’t matter that I don’t change the rolling edge?

As long as the width of each edgespot matches the width of the face, you’re ok.
Also know that since it’s on a curve, each edgespot on the edge will be a bit longer than the face. You can either do the math to figure it out, or use the templates using the link I provided.

It matters. Unaligned edge spots are the worse. There are people here that have them in sets and out of respect for their feelings I can’t say what I really think about unaligned edge spots. But they are not good.

The only thing I’m changing is the orientation on the face luckily. Yeah I have noticed that it is stretched out a bit that’s why I don’t want to screw with the rolling edge lol.

Oh yes unaligned edges absolutely matter. What I mean is it won’t matter that mine aren’t lined up, they will align them for me.
