IMPORTANT UPDATE POST 177.
Did you ever wish you could play in at WCB, but cant travel to the 4-day pokerathons? This year you can! We're going virtual.
Personally, 2018 sucked hard for me, but 2020 is turning out to be the shit show of shit shows. A LOT of reasons to get together with your friends to try to tune out and have fun. I've been procrastinating doing this, but I can't have people traveling to my house this year for four days. As much as I'd like to flip the 'rona off, it isn't the right thing to do.
The Commemorative Chips are here, and to keep the tradition alive this year, the solution is to run the WCB Tourney online, mainly for WCB11 Champ bragging rights.
WHAT: An Online WCB11 Tournament
- Pokerstars play money in the Home Games section.
- Currently looking at game selection, and from what I can see PokerStars allows us to play any game you want as long as its NLHE or Omaha.
For a $20 buy in on a P* online tournament, you shouldn't care too much about the specifics, but we'll square that away shortly.
- 2:00 pm start on Saturday, July 25.
Tournament will probably last 6 hours-ish for me and the person who comes in second
- $20 buy in.
Since this is online poker and I hate gambling adult money online.
- Zoom conferencing.
This is your chance to put a face to the name of your online friends if they have their camera turned on.
- Structure, payout, and other tourney details will be appended on this thread.
For $20 you should be focusing on how you're going to beat @k9dr since he always wins these things when we get together in person. And FYI, I usually play very badly at this tourney since I have to host and figure the tournament out while I play...this year, I will be serious as a heart attack.
- Each person that plays can request a commemorative chip.
This may be limited if more than 60 people request one. You will be asked to forward an extra $3 for postage when you pay for the tournament ($23 total buyin) if you want one.
- Since I normally drop a bunch of money hosting this, I'm going to deploy that money putting bounties on a bunch of people (TBD after I see who signs up).
Third party prop bets and trash talking is recommended. I will organize teams and we will draft the teams after the sign up is done.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
1. Sign up for the tournament by posting on this thread. Indicate whether you want a commemorative chip.
I will update the player list in post 2
2. Make sure you have a PokerStars play money account and username. We will use a private poker room in the play money area.
You will need to provide me with your PokerStars user name via PM
We will provide the instructions for where the room is and how to register for the tournament on PokerStars.
3. If you'd like to participate in the Zoom call, make sure you have looked into how to access zoom on your computer. It'd be nice to socialize while we play.
We will provide the zoom call information to all people who sign up.
So, for now, just post if you want to play, and post any questions, and we will start putting this together.
