I have heard of two reasons why cards are made with the dark red "security ink" vs a brighter red. 1) So casino security cameras show the cards better because they have more contrast, 2) So if I card flies up a little during a deal and flashes, a player could not recognize it as a red card. Are these the only reasons? I know for myself, I prefer a lighter red so that it stands out more from the black cards. I guess some people could prefer the darker red just aesthetically? Which do you prefer?

Prefer? The brighter red.

For a more authentic experience I like the cards with a darker ink for exactly the reason you mentioned. Some of my guys can get flashy and not realize it.
