why so few full art ceramic sets? (2 Viewers)

How have the Dia de los Muertos not been mentioned yet? They take full advantage of the possibilities with ceramics. Each has a unique edge design that doesn't need alignment. Not much issue with dirty stacks. Easy to read denoms that don't conflict with the artwork. They do their own thing and don't try to look like clay chips.

Not to mention this. Nobody ever does this. I think I remember seeing one chipset here that got creative like this. Something with bears maybe?

There were a couple of older stock bounty chip sets that used that type of artwork -- I think you had to collect four or five bounties to build the full picture.

Full artwork is a great idea for ceramics, but it's hard to develop great artwork. Copying other chips is just much easier. I love some of the stuff in here.

I too have a set of the Regencies and love them! They really take advantage of the full face printing real estate, and they have super square edges which were common in the Chipco chips of the 80s (sad thosenot available anymore)

I also had an awesome Chipco set of Presidents before which featured unique denominations in reference to US currency. Unfortunately had to part with them as they were not practical to play with due to the crazy fancy edges that led to dirty stack issues. Coolest part of these chips was that you could align one of every denomination to form the American flag.

My favorite ceramic design of all time is still the Caribe Hiltons. They’re just outstanding in all ways.

I respect the school of full coverage of a ceramic chip's face.

Just to register a dissident opinion. I love clay-ish looking chips, whatever the material.
IMHO, there 's nothing more beautiful than a clay chip.
If it can be made cheaper (and probably more durable) so be it.

Apparently, I do not like ceramic face designs immitating Hieronymous Bosch and dealing with the Plague, the Living Dead, or whatever.
But that's just me.
