I'm watching Friday Night Poker, which was a Pokergo show from 2018, filmed at the Aria. 6-max $5/$10 game. They're using $5s, $10s, $100s and $1Ks. Odd

I watch some of Andrew Neeme's vlogs, and they do the same thing at the Bellagio for the $5/$10 game. I like it. Especially to skip over the $25 chip, and just make the $10 the workhorse chip and the $100 the next higher value chip. (Although I assume they don't completely exclude the $25 from the lineup in the casino, like if someone were to come to the table with them, or come over from the $2/$5 game.)

When a casino has a $10 chip, and that chip is orange -- use 'em.

The $10 chip is useless if $5's are in play to cover the blinds. They'd have been best served using $5's, $20's, $100's, and $1000's. The $10 chip is very nice though.

I just would like to say this. Fuck the Friday Night Poker stream. It's what I would watch on Friday nights when I was home on paternity leave with my son when he'd be up in odd hours of the night. Watching this I remembered how fun poker was, and inspired me a few months later to get my old game going again after a 6 year hiatus, which led me to buying some plastic card set ups and some plastic slugs which led to me signing up here to see what else was out there. So yeah...

A $10 doesn't exclude a $20. A$25 has no place if a $10 is in use.

Total guess since I hardly play in casinos or at those stakes. A casino is concerned with hands per hour to maximize rake, and counting/stacking chips is a slow process. It seems the $5s would only be used for small blind and otherwise would slow things down and take up space.

Very standard in $10 BB big bet games to use $10/100/1k denoms. Lots of rooms have just gone to spreading $10/10 to eliminate the $5s and players will have $1s just for tips.

No freaking way!!! I did the same thing :)

Perhaps the $10 chip was created by some secret PCF member who has a hand in the casino planning business. He/She knows it'll make its way here eventually...

Parx casino in the Philly area used to spread a 10/10 nl table which used exclusively bright orange $10 chips. It was one of the biggest games in the room, with just mountainous stacks. The first time I walked past that table I did a double, triple take!!
