As many of you probably already know that a lot of Japanese companies do not just make one thing. For example Honda - Cars, Motorcycles, Snowmobiles, Snowblowers, Lawnmowers, Lawn Equipment- Yamaha- Motorcycles, Watercraft, Musical Instruments, Stereo/Home Theater Equipment. And some companies we know them as only producing one thing here in the States because that is the only thing they sell here. I never knew that Nintendo produced 100% Plastic Playing cards. I have never seen them before and it could be they only sold them in Japan. You could find the Nintendo cards easily on eBay, but most of them are not cheap though. Below is of some of their designs. They also have some Mario and Nintendo game character type designs. Very interesting to me, but the prices probably end my interest at just interest.

Nintendo actually started out as a card company. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo Like you mentioned, they still make them and can be found in Japan. I actually have a 'magic' deck that a friend gave me a while ago. I'll post some pictures later on (when I find them).
Their Hanafuda decks can get quite pricey, especially the vintage ones.

They have Nintendo playing cards available on Amazon.co.jp.

They have some Mario and Zelda decks with unique faces.

I have an order queued up but shipping costs kinda blow so I haven't pulled the trigger.

If anyone is interested in a mini GB let me know and I'll tack on your order to mine to defray costs for us.

@TheDuke I will check this out as it is interesting to me as a fellow Canadian! GB? :)

I found my magic Nintendo cards! Here they are.

They are in the standard bridge size and not plastic.

If you look closely at the corners, you will notice different portions of the 'flower' are filled in / left blank. This is to inform the magician what card it is. The suits are coded by the "<" mark in between the grouping of petals. One of them will be in a thinner line treatment.

Here is a close up of the back of the case. It's hard to read but it says 'Nintendo Co., Ltd.'

Another fun thing to note about these cards is the width of the card itself is not uniform. The bottom half of the card is slightly longer than the top. This is helpful because the magician can easily have another person reinsert a card (upside down) into the deck (which is already set facing 'the right way'). The magician can then immediately tell (by feel) which card was chosen. :)

If I had known these existed, I would have added them onto my Angel group buy. Damn, missed opportunity.

Another use of the asshat!

That thinner width from top to bottom is known as “shaving” or a “stripper deck”. Like you said, cards inserted can be quickly “stripped out” because they are wider at one end. Stack the four aces in the opposite way and just “strip” them out one at a time as you are dealing.
You can buy card shavers still, they look like paper cutter mats with scissors attached, they were originally to uniformly trim the edges of old paper cards as they became worn and ragged from grubby use. Extend the life a little.

Not sure if you opened up a deck yet - but what is the quality like? Perhaps this needs to be reviewed in the cards section as I don't think many have these decks handy for review...

I haven't actually opened any yet. I'll be doing that this weekend. I'll post a review once I've had a chance to handle them.

Nintendo is also in the Porn business, they own the rights to at least two (2) titles.

They also once owned a series of "Love Hotels" in the 60s where rooms could be rented by the hour.
