I noticed that some ceramics have a textured feel to them. I first noticed this at the Linq in Vegas. Anyone know what exactly it’s called or who makes them?

Great question and great picture. When you zoom in, it looks like a linen finish. I’m not an expert, but the only ceramics I know with that finish are Chipcos. But Chipcos almost always have a white rim around the edge.
So because of that, and the lack of the little Chico watermark, I’d guess they’re not Chipcos. And I’d like to know what they are.

I cant quite tell if the finish is pressed on or tell how its made. I will say that it feels much better than a smooth ceramic.

The new Chipco (formerly GOCC) offers textured blanks (and sells to casinos).

Nevada casinos are required to have a manufacturer mark on cash checks. Do you have a pic of any cash chips from the Linq?

I don’t, that was a few years ago. But if I remember correctly they looked very similar
