Hi PCF, I had recently procured a set of chip with the following breakdown

25c x 100
$1 x 200
$5 x 200

At the moment, I am considering adding some Plaques to complete the set making it a Chip + Plaques mixed set just like those often seem in the Hong Kong Gambling God movies that I used to watch when I am much younger.

However, I am not sure how many Plaques amount is the right amount. I don't want it to end up with too many Plaques and also not too shallow in the Bank.

I will be mostly using this set to cover 50c/50c or 50c/$1 Stake for 6 or 7 handed poker

Currently, I had a few options

1) 20 x $20, 20 x $100 Plaques. Total Bank $3625 (Total 40 Plaques)

2) 40 x $20, 20 x $100 Plaques. Total Bank $4025 (Total 60 Plaques)

3) 60 x $20, 20 x $100 Plaques. Total Bank $4425 (Total 80 Plaques)

whats the average buyins per night? whats the max that has been on the table? Is it a keeper set? If so you may want to allow for stakes expansion.

How do you plan to store the plaques? Maybe the storage option will guide your choice

We usually buyin at $100 and allow rebuyin at $200 after that.

There are usually highest at $2,000 to $2,200 at the end game
If so you may want to allow for stakes expansion.
We are a group of causal players so we like to keep the stakes at 50c/$1 and foreseen no perm stake expansion in the near future

These are CPC so there is always a possibility for expansion

Good Question, I don't have a good storage option yet but will look into it in the future

Additional info, also considering for a generic design so we can mixed with other set as well

At the bare minimum I'd want to have 2x equivalent of the highest value plaque in smaller denominations per player, but would prefer a 3x. Your game should work fine with option 2 but if you want to treat the set as 10max, then option 3 is preferred.

It seem Option 3 had the most votes. that might be the direction I will be going for

Thanks everyone who had voted or commented

Sorry this is PCF and option 3 will see you spending the most of your money so we choose that.....
Seeing as you are using $100 buy in's option 3 makes the most sense for a set that should never be broken even on the most outrageous of nights. Option 2 will likely also meet your needs.

Already went ahead and go with option 3, in fact the plaques just came in today

I went with Tina to make the plaques (I like their PCA plaques that I gotten previously) and the price is reasonable

Edited* I do think option 3 suited the set more too as it just about more than enough without being too excessive purchase
