Technically you can do a lot of things that are frowned upon in a community. He was the only one arguing whether he could or couldn’t as a defenseI think you know what I mean. Technically he can sell them for what he wants if there is a buyer.
Well said. I admired the boldness and the ownership of the post and I missed all the other stuff in the middle.I actually agree he can sell them for whatever he wants
but generally...at least round these parts...he won’t make any friends. And for most chippers who actually love buying selling trading collecting... if you lose your reputation here...theres really not a lot of other places to go. While not all of us are religious..we have our own methods of excommunication
For your reading pleasure, you can get a taste in this old thread. https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/paulsons-for-sale.5727/I heard there was some epic banter and the sales thread was pretty great.
I think the thread was very bad taste, but not from the seller... The reactions he got were kind of shockingI was looking for that thread this morning because I wanted to see how it turned out.
If someone post replies that would tarnish their reputation can they just request the thread to be removed??
I unssand locking the thread. But to remove the tree completely would prevent others to look their history up to judge their character. We don’t really get redos in this forum. People are forgiving but their should be consequences.
I’d like to see what he said to determine if I were to ever do business with him.

(Which, at the time was kinda right when the price of Paulsons did go sky high, so as someone said above, the prices in this old thread were defendable, but maybe not his attitude and responses.)

Well i had to reread it, but if u dont think the reactions he received were completely bad taste... IdkWere not
I dont agree with him either. But some of the post were way off, basicallly telling him to go k... Himself...Well some were, but then there's always plenty of people going overboard.
Hard to feel sorry for someone that brought it on themselves though.
I'm not sure you're talking about the same thread. I think the thread @Perthmike was talking about was the one that was deleted from last night. If you didn't see that one, I think you both are right.Well i had to reread it, but if u dont think the reactions he received were completely bad taste... Idk

Uh, the best part of that old thread from 5 years ago was the observation that senior members were selling off their group buy chips for profit. Well, that and the fact that Mr. Cheese was the one to shut it down.Uh, the best part of that old thread from 5 years ago was the observation that senior members were selling off their group buy chips for profit. My my how times have . . . er . . .
I have a theory about this. For people who have been into this hobby for the long run, Paulson home market chips were the god standard for a long time. Casino chips just weren’t available back then. A lot of those guys still have a lot of love for those chips, and their cache has trickled down to some of the newer generations. And, love them or not, a lot of them are more rare than many of the larger casino releases that the rest of us love.i think price of pharoahs and wthc and noirs selling at $3+/chip is crazy.....how are they selling for more than casino paulsons??.....and yes i had samples of them before...all the paulson home market chips feel like plasticky compared to casino chips..but thats my opinion.
This is my personal ranking
Paulson leaded>TRK>Paulson>BCC Heavyweights>ASM>BCC>Paulson home market. bring on the hate
One of those tags was me - we thread jacked a posting a few months back with a debate about whether or not a hot dog was a sandwich - was hoping to do that again with that guy's awful hot mess.Yeah, I had like two tags after my video, and I'll never know what they were saying to me... Sad....
I was typing away on it when he asked for it to be deleted. He said he was only jacking up his price cause he needed the money since he had been furloughed for so long. I actually used his eBay seller feedback page and google to prove he had been buying stuff from Jim, jacking up the price, and selling it on eBay for a few years. He tucked his tail and ran after that. That cannot be. He said he's go on and on until we agreed with him.

He's throwing in a Paulson chip so he can use the word Paulson in his ad and get extra traffic without being deceptive (i.e. "these are not Paulson")...

In the end, it’s all a matter is taste. But when those chips were the best you could get for a decade or two, it sticks.
The thread was removed for a reason. I say “good riddance”, and propose we all get back to chipping!

My understanding was that jim pretty much created the industry around 2005?im not sure how long ago Og was but I started back on the blue boards in 2007 and I first got some wthc and samurais but even then I didn’t think much of them. Back then we still had pnys Twain’s vineyard condados cp etc. and that was in 2007. Maybe you mean further back which I wasn’t a part of
