Last night, my daughter found me in the basement murdering some poker chips. At first, she was horrified, but soon came around to the idea and thought it was cool.

This morning I found this. It's supposed to be me, "Daddy, King of the Poker Chips". When I asked her about it she said, "Well Kings can do anything they want, even kill their subjects"

That's what she said!!! That I have too many chips and need to maintain my rule over them before they band together and overthrow me. Maybe I'm not the one with the problem here. I think she's been reading to many books with knights and dragons.
 
So now they've started making me my own poker chips. The $5 is pretty self explanatory. However, I don't know if the picture of me is the frac, or is the flower?

Also, I clearly have failed teaching them about dirty stacks and edge spots. I do like my oddly shaped bounty chip with hearts.

Actually, you're quite close! Both my daughters love our Joker Poker pinball machine and are helping me design a set using the Cards mold around it. Just don't know if I can get them to help me finish the art in time...

It's funny, she burns me all the time ragging about how I'm addicted to poker chips. Yet she is the one who always wants to play in a heads up tournament with me on the weekend. She also asked questions about all the chips, and I guess she remembers what I tell her (like about the weight)

Her favorite chip out of my 10,000 is the blue sunfly prestige.
 
I love it!!! She’s gonna be a beast at the tables some day! My kids just think I’m weird until I bring chips out for set pictures, then they admire them for a minute.

She did really well when I hosted my junior's tournament back in December. The problem mostly was that she was playing other kids who are stupid and call anything with anything and catch at the end. I kept trying to tell her that she needs to not play them as if they were me, she needs to play them as if they were completely clueless and could have any hand possible. She'll learn.

I've got a really good bottle of bourbon stashed away for the day that she joins PCF. Then I'll crack it open.

I showed this post to my little one. Her response: "I don't get it, but I like his doggie picture"
 
Tell her that my woman and I had also adopted (financially) that "doggie", named Lyk (Lykos=wolf in Greek), in the Arcturos Wolf Refuge (don't know if it's good to tell her he 's dead now)

Love the name; gorgeous wolf. One of our best family trips was to the Lakota Wolf Preserve where they "adopted" (sponsored) a beautiful pup.
 
New crew in the refuge; Canadian arctic wolves, having been tortured in "zoos" (cages) around the world for years, now being free in dozens of hectares.

My daughter recently had to run a bracelet manufacturing company as part of an extracurricular school activity. The kids had to learn about supply and demand, costs of materials, etc. And they actually had to go and make hundreds upon hundreds of bracelets to then sell to the school and the parents.

I think she knows me very well. She knew the exact two bracelets that I would purchase from her.

She nailed the colors on the HSI chip! I think the best part was hearing her tell the parents, as they inquired about other bracelets, that the colors were "Arc Yellow" and "Dayglo Tiger".

This post is older but relevant for me:
My 10 yr old, "dad, all you do is look at poker chips on your computer, is that all you do?"

But then 10 minutes later she wants to play me heads up with chips....for money.

She hasn't gotten to that stage yet of asking about chips but I know she has a few favorites.
