Whats the biggest win you've seen at your home game? (cash game) (1 Viewer)

@wonderpuddle tells nothing but the truth! In for $200, out for $1777 in a $1 single blind game at The Havana Cardroom.

Pretty tame compared to the numbers already posted but my brother was in for $40 out for $151 last week to make the biggest cash out our game has seen.

I play with a disciplined bunch and also all the players are competent. It takes some crazy variance to generate big wins. In over a year if playing 3x per week we have had one or two games where a player was up $500 to $600 in our .25/.50 $100 max game.

Back in my casino dealer days, the longest session I've ever played was 15 hours playing 3/6 Limit Hold'em with some coworkers. Started with $150, and ended up just shy of $2,000. When you're hot, you're hot!

A few (many now?) years ago we had a $1700 cash-out on a $100 buy-in at 0.25/0.50
A very loose player giving away many $$ in big pots, mostly to the same guy. IIRC one of the last pots
was $500 or so

Maybe @krafticus and/or @Chippy McChiperson remember it better
Actually, your buy-in was capped at $60 back then. Crazy thing, everyone bet into him, he had the nuts nearly every time.

Sorry, I'm inexperienced, what does a "home game" consist of? Does this mean close friends / family or strangers and how would that work with inviting, setting up etc? Dealing with such high amounts, can that not lead to bad blood?

Thanks.
This was probably my biggest win in our $.5/1 home games, in for $300, out for around $1200 I think. I think we’ve had players cash in the $1600 range in our $1/1 Deepstack game. View attachment 660935

A home game is usually considered to be any card game played outside a casino or club. Sometimes people will allow strangers, though mostly it’s people the host knows and Occasionally friend-of-a-friend.
Depending on the group, the stakes can be anywhere from play money, to micro stakes (5c blinds) all the way up to $10/20 no limit and beyond.
With my friends we play $1/2, but usually people don’t bring more money than they’re willing to lose, so bad blood is rare.
