Playing 6-handed, $.25/$.50 PLO8 with a $1 straddle.

Hero is in the BB, sitting on a $50 stack on a $20 buy-in (2-3-6-9 - don't remember the suits, but they're largely irrelevant). Pot is limped to Hero, who calls, and the straddler checks.

Pot: $6

Flop: 6d-6s-3d with two diamonds

SB checks, Hero bet $5, folds around to SB, who has me covered by a tiny bit, calls.

Pot: $16

Turn: 4d

SB bets $7. What does Hero do now? (Happy to also discuss Hero's line PF and on the flop, but the hand didn't really get interesting until the turn)

I suggest that Hero look at his cards before making a decision. ;)

honestly, this is how all PLO strat posts should be.

"guys i'm playing PLO and i have some cards, but don't worry about that. this one guy bet and i called/raised/whatever and now it's on me again. WWCD?"

and the answer posts will always be "pot" "jam" "wtf pot obv" etc.

Oops ... they were in there but then I put in the nonsense about suits not mattering. Post now edited, but hero had 2-3-6-9.

WTF pot obv. ;)

No really though, we have a near-lock high (and if he somehow has 64 we still have 3 outs and low draw) and villain is likely to think a flush + low is the nuts. We will be chopping this pot an awful lot and at higher stakes there would be an argument to be made for calling and shipping the river to fold out some of his chops, but here I think just shoveling it in where we almost can't be scooped and will scoop or quarter him some (fairly small) percentage of the time would be the best course of action.

insert WTF are you doing playing 2369 in PLO comment

Family pot in BB, it's only $.50 to call into a pot of $5.50 to see if Hero can hit a nut hand (high or low). Most Omaha 8 specialists will tell you that with that many people in the pot, there probably aren't many aces left in the deck to hit a nut low flop, but that many callers isn't unusual in this game.

Straddle was sitting on about $10, which means he's only shipping a raise in if he's got a premium hand (why he's straddling with a 20 BB stack is another question entirely), I think it makes sense to call.

Lol I wasnt saying its a leak in the game, I was just beating out the typical responses I expected to see when posting strat threads. There is always someone who chimes in "fold preflop"

With that many players in a hand. Someone is calling a pot bet, especially at those stakes. Anything less and you could be playing 6 players to the turn.

Snoop, don't you write poker articles? Wrong game in title, no cards provided. Who's your editor, your cat? ;)

I would flat the $7.

Good points. My cat used to be my editor, but we had to get rid of it when we found out one of our kids was allergic, hence my problem.

I shipped, he snapped, w/A246, gg, reload.

First instinct is to ship, but then I notice you have no low. Call turn, call river. With any low I would have raised.
