What is Your Favorite Set on PCF? (1 Viewer)

My 12 year old ASM’s but again nobody usually likes no. Denoms.

I decided I wasn't going to play, since I own seven sets that contain chips excluded by the OP. :x

But there have been a bunch of great sets listed, both cash and tournament. Of those not already mentioned so far, I'd include pretty much everything that Paulo has stashed away in the @ChaosRock hoard. And there's a LOT...

As much as I love @abby99 's Lady Luck set - and in the interest of full disclosure, it was either #1 or #2 on my most wanted sample set for years until I finally snagged it - if I were to take one custom clay cash set of someone else's right now it would be @k9dr 's Suicide Queen set. The mesh of spot pattern, inlay, colors, mold, and everything just subtly whispers "old school" in your ear (until the queen shoves a knife in it).

For my favorite custom clay tournament set right now, I'd lean toward's The Hitching Post by @Mr Tree followed very, very closely by @toad94 's [insert tournament set here], @Rhodeman77 's Treehouse set, and @Chippy McChiperson 's Nirvana Lounge set (pictured above).

For casino cash, as awesome as the aforementioned Trop 2nd's set of @ssanel54 is - and it is pure joy, to be sure - I'd actually have to lean toward the Riverside cash set by @gopherblue. I'm taking the set, the table, the pictures, the cut cards, the dealer buttons, and everything, and I'm fleeing to the North Pole where nobody can find me. This is the one small crown cash set that I've ever touched chips of where I'd be weak enough in the knees to own it.

That said, if it had more $1's (and I know it's going to get there eventually), I'd be sorely tempted to run away with the Trop 1st set by @41Pickup. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen it mentioned yet.

VERY honorable mentions in this category would be the Lakeshores owned by @RainmanTrail (pictured above) and the RVCL set by @softchewy.

The Oceanside Card Club set put together by @BiGGyT should also be mentioned. It may be used, but I love the consistent spot pattern and the overall look. Not to mention the effort and money it took to put together any of these cash sets!

For casino tournament, I'd have to go with the Paulson Aviation Club de France owned by [redacted], followed closely by the Argosy spotted tournament set which I can't seem to find pictures of right now.

In the ceramic category, the Paymaster set by @Mr Tree (along with the storage case and table) reigns supreme.

I also feel compelled to mention the Clermont Lounge set on the smooth plain mold by jbutler. This is about as perfect of a modern crest & seal-style set as I think has ever been custom made for a modern home game. Sets like this don't often get much run, but if I had to choose one set of cash solids, I'd probably grab this & run fast and far since we can't reproduce it today.

Seconding the Suicide Queens. I’ve only seen them in pics here, but the artwork and typography is top notch.

Honestly?

When I first came to PCF, I expected to see a ton of high end chips at premium prices, and that's it. No in betweeners, just dice chips or paying through the nose to get a set.

And then I discovered this wasn't the case. That there is a middle ground, where people can buy a decent set of chips for their casual homegame without breaking the bank or having to find people who harvest live casino chips. A way to get away from dice chips without going bankrupt.

So here's a shout out to my favourite chips on PCF: the ones in the middle :)

Personal top 3:
1. Majestics
2. Milanos
3. Dunes

Dunes in the middle? Are you referring to Dunes CC? A friend of mine locally has a set of Milanos, they are great chips in the category of which you’ve described.:)

Yeah, absolutely Dunes CC, originals might be just a bit more expensive :p

I got samples of Milanos and Majestics, went with the Majestics because I prefer the black inlays, and I love them for all the reasons mentioned above :)

Are we talking real casino? or customs?

Updated with photos from around the site.
If I had to stick with just six sets (that covered both cash/tourney with several different chip manufacturers and types), ^that^ would be a pretty damn solid list.

Am I allowed to say my own customs? Don't have a picture of the real deal rn but here's the proofs ^^

With the opened vault and mysterious sellers these hot old school casino chips will most likely get hotter.
Show us what you have! I've been putting these together for many years and hope to add some 5's and 500's

So i see who has been buying up my $500 and $1k.;) I stopped bidding on them as they were just too crazy.

You cant change my mind
Id have a hard time finding anything that tops either of these. More history in one table than Ive ever seen

My personal favorite custom set has to be @stevea Jokers Cardroom right now.

Outside of customs if I had to pick one it would be PCA's....I'm a sucker for my own personal nostalgia with them. This reminds me though I need to take some pics with my 500's now!

I'm a noob, lots to learn and discover still!

That said, nothing wows me more than customs! People's wonderful creations easily trump the crap designs that GPI puts out, IMHO! (I know it's worthless, but customs rock)

I can't get enough eye contact with my sample sets of Knollwoods Poker Room, by @72o. Equally as tops for me, is "The Clubhouse" by @Rhodeman77 !!

Just a few days ago, I got a sample set of "Speak EC" by @krafticus . Just an insane set. I need more time to truly appreciate its beauty.
