What is your favorite CPC mold? (1 Viewer)

^ This. And noteworthy that the more they get used, the better the feel and handling. ASM/CPC chips are pretty hard when new, and take a long time (or a lot of use) to really break in and hit their sweet-spot.

Couldn’t agree more.

I have only played or sampled six of the twelve. Still need to put my paws on DiSq, B, Jockey, E&C, DieCar, and Scroll before knowing with certainty which is my absolute favorite.

I'd be stoked with a chip set on just about any of them, really.

I know a place you can probably tackle 4 of those in one day.

I don't like them much myself; however, even though they are very similar, I think the 3916's with their more rounded look are cool. Used them on a couple of chips in my looming CPC set.

I feel the same exact way!

But love my Soap’s Parlor set with the spot pattern, it fits so well that I don’t mind the the spot pattern.

Money not being an issue I would use diamond square. I just can’t justify the big price difference from the A-mold and HHR which I love both of as well. Probably a slight nod to the HHR of the 2.

Not always. I felt the HHR was more fitting for the Broken Bell theme. Old City Philly still has Horse and Carriage today. The B was nice but the Diamond just had no connection.

I think using the letters to match the theme is slightly overrated. The horse head molds were used in casinos of all names for many years, the detail of those heads is stunning and I like the way the chips handle. I love most of the molds but the B mold also really feels good and has great look imo.

So am I to understand that there is a difference in material composition between the various CPC molds?

???

I would doubt it. But each mold does physically perform differently because of the characteristics of the mold. For example, some molds can't be hot stamped because the pressure of the hot stamp would disrupt the quality of the mold impression. Others may sound different because the depth or width of the depression will differ, etc.

No. Same clay, different feel, sound and handling based on texture, inlay size, hotstamping. Slightly different diameters too iirc.
Gotcha... I've got a barrel of HHR style I found years ago at a yard sale that I like very much and just bought a set of A mold style based on that feel I plan on re labeling.

I like the letter on the mold/theme link.

Jockey always felt the best but I have no affinity to it.

HHR, Circle Square, Dsq best feeling and looking imo.

Like the look of H mold, feel not as much. Same for A mold, and I own a set.

B mold and small crown I’m still on the fence, as I’ve not handled in person.

FDL gets a like too but I feel only suits certain inlays.

The rest is a pass for me.

All a personal thing though. As mentioned above the feel (like Paulsons) improves ten fold with a fair bit of use.

Need a video showcasing each of the different moulds on feel, sound, and handling, including the 44mm chips.

Csq for just looks. Horsehead for theme, would love then with an old western or saloon theme like S Soapys Parlour

Curious about $20 chips vs. $25. I would guess the $20 would be handy in a 10/20 game, or some limit games, but I play mostly 1/2 or 2/5, so that is kind of outside my experience...
