@Seeking Alpha Social Club how's your retirement working out for you?
I actually LOVE it!! I have had 2 relapses, but I gotta tell you, I love not checking For Sale or Auction adds every day to be sure I'm not missing out. Oh yeah, and I have absolutely positively saved a few thousand dollars on chips I would have previously bought. AND, I know I have enough friends that they will give me a heads up if TRK Rounders or Deadwoods come for sale!! :)

I'm actually enjoying it so much that I am contemplating selling off more. HOWEVER, for anybody contemplating PMing me in advance, please don't waste your time. I ABSOLUTELY will do a solid for anybody who has ever done me a solid or I am friends with...so don't worry, if I sell anything I know you are interested in....you will have first dibs!! :)

So that's a long way of saying....retirement is
AWESOME my friend!!

Dibs!!!

It’s easy!
You try and attend as many meet ups as you can and spend time with like minded friends. ;)
If there happened to be another set out there that I desired as much as the ones that I currently own, I’d still be in the game.

The absolute best part of this hobby is the people you meet and befriend along your journey. Over time, when I look back, it’s amazing to me thinking about all the places where I’ve gotten to sit and splash pots with these friends.

I look at it from a point of just because I’m not hunting chips down anymore to complete sets doesn’t mean I’m not involved in the hobby. There are still some chips (stragglers/diamonds in the ruff) out there that will turn up and I’d buy or possibly work out a trade for.
There’s also members/friends that are working on things important to them that I still try and keep an eye out for and there are still many people I still hope to meet in person at some point. @liftapint being at the top of my long list. Love you Mel.

Just because my hunting days are more or less over at this point doesn’t mean my passion for poker with like minded friends is. This hobby as a whole has been an AMAZING journey for me, I wouldn’t be in the place I’m currently in in life had it not been for being involved in this hobby.
At times, I’m very turned off by the course of some things, but in the end, it’s not enough to keep me from wanting to go to the next meet up and spend time with friends NEW AND OLD.

Finding chipping through my passion for poker guided me to where I am at this exact moment in time and I know unequivocally it’s exactly where I’m supposed to be. :cool

honestly, the thing that made me realize things were different for me was when I realized I hadn't checked the classifieds in a while.

that's good advice and I plan on prioritizing meet-ups going forward. Maybe I'll get better at poker along the way and they won't be a total loss.

CPC customs.

Many different iterations of the same theme. Tournament set? Of course! Cash set? Can't have just the tournament set, my crew plays mostly cash. Limit set? Oh fuck yeah!

Is that you Kevin?  :ROFLMAO:
O
Is that you Kevin?  :ROFLMAO:
Dude, it was WAY less successful then that dude. It went something like:

1. Jump on the hood of a speeding car.
2. Face plant on the hood....
3....slide up the hood and SMASH your face into the windshield...
4...which resulted into you launching 8 to 10 feet into the air, right before...
5. You came crashing....face first....into the asphalt.

Near success...with the exception of all the face smashes...LOL!!

Sit back, relax and realize you’re never ”done”. It moves in cycles. Eventually, you’ll find some new chipset that you have to have

Most of the chips here that I want are way out of my price range. I am almost finished building a HSI Secondary cash set and the price of those have gone sky high. I'm probably done after that. I have a large single casino chip collection that I have been collecting for about 25 years.

I haven't bought anything in two months and hang out on the cigar and the whiskey thread, maybe see what's in 'new' from time to time. I sold a rack of butterscotch chips to someone who PM'd me a sale listing I'd bought them in 9 months ago and asked if I had ever used them and if I still had them, would be willing to sell.

Feels good.

Maybe I'll get in on a group buy if something strikes my fancy.
