What are your taboos when creating chip sets? (1 Viewer)

I'm a serious nucking fitpicker, so when it comes to building and/or collecting playable sets, I generally do not:
- mix manufacturers
- mix material types
- mix mold types
- mix mold sizes
- mix inlay sizes
- mix inlays with hot-stamps
- mix radically different chip conditions
or any combination thereof.

Pretty sure that none of the dozen or so sets that currently reside in the collection violate those seven canons (although some past sets have done so).

Two "unnatural" items I'm less concerned with are mixing original inlay chips with re-labeled chips (or inlay replacements), and mixing unleaded chips with older leaded chips. I have two sets with the former, two sets with the latter, and one set with both.

However, I consider all "specialty" chips associated with a set to be exempt from all the above listed restrictions (bounty, re-buy, re-load, all-in, seating, etc.).

Haha, yeah sorry. It's just personal preference! I know the scarlet rooms are also in good standing on pcf. But man, you really hit it out of the park with those other two sets. (so you've basically done this to yourself with that competition :wtf: .)
So it's MY fault you hate my dead dog?

I'm guessing a lot will disagree with me, but I won't mix 39mm and 43mm in the same set. It should all be one or the other.

Don’t mix CPC molds- they are of different diameters. I tried it and it put me on tilt.

I'm curious how all of you "don't mix molds" people feel about casino sets with mixed molds. Jack Cincinnati chips used a THC $1 but the rest RHC.

Those are the worst -- one pretty flower in a field of weeds.

The THC mold Aztar sets were ruined by the dumb inclusion of a single RHC denomination chip in each.

Are there any design lines (other than obvious counterfeiting of course) you just wouldn't cross?

Counterfeiting is not even an obvious one here ...

Let's put some oil on the fire ahah.

Can I see a pic of your wonderful (grail in my eyes) GCOP set ? :ninja:
