Just finished a very mediocre trip to Utah (pictured) and wondering, "how did I end up out there?" I'm now visiting family, which is equally mediocre.

Where do you like to vacation? You may have noticed this poll is skewed slightly toward gambling. I think NYC, Chicago, LA and San Francisco would be higher on the list.

"My house," or "in front of my TV," are not valid answers.

My two favorite spots at the moment are Yosemite and Miami Beach.

There's a ton of great places to play in Wisconsin, but I'm limiting my responses to out of state trips. We love Colorado, Estes Park area, etc... and I love Vegas. I went three times last year

Where in Utah did you visit? Unless you ski the National Parks are the place to visit.

My two favorite places to visit are New York City and Disney Land. They are both American marvels and I am in awe every time I visit pondering how unique and amazing they are. My third favorite is Vegas. My parents winter there and I can be there in 5 hours. If the Raiders move to Vegas then Disney Land gets bumped to third :D

NYC is pretty much unbeatable from a cultural standpoint:

Top tier Opera (The Met), museums (The Met, Moma, Frick, Natural History e.t.c), Lincoln center jazz, Ballet (new york city ballet is regarded as top 5, American Ballet Theatre is at least top 10), some of the most ethnically diverse food in the world (great Italian-American and Jewish delis in particular).

Big city living may not be for everyone, but definitely worth repeat visits.

I selected other.

Outside the US I prefer Bangkok and Amsterdam. If I'm in the states, New Orleans, Glacier National Park, Seattle, Vegas, Grand Canyon

Either Oceanside, CA, or New York. How the hell I didn't have NY in my original top two escapes me - I'd go there for the food alone, let alone the shows, architecture, museums, boats, etc.!

Honorable mention: Seattle, WA and Washington, DC.

I like to Visit Louisville, KY and Tampa FL outside of the vegas trips. KY for the Bourbon trail and horse racing. Tampa is on the water and have friends there.

For staycations, the beaches along the Florida Gulf Coast - especially Anna Maria Island. For winter vacations, most any ski resort out west, but my favorites are Little Cottonwood Canyon (Alta), Summit County (Breckenridge), and Lake Tahoe (Squaw Valley).

I do love NYC, it would be third or forth on my list. I've been several times and every time I'm reminded that city is alive. I've never been to another city like NY. I just have to be in a city mood - this is why I'd rate it third or forth, many times I just want a peaceful get away.

Amsterdam is a great international pick.

No particular order:

Maine
Martha's Vineyard (if I was stupid wealthy I'd buy the house next door to Bill Murray)
Upstate NY (Hudson Valley and Adirondacks)
San Francisco
Rockies
Jackson Hole
Glacier Natl Park/Missoula
UP and upper Lower Peninsula of Michigan
Pacific Northwest
Kauai
Maui
Alaska
US Virgin Islands

And of course, NYC, but I live here, so not really a vacation spot.

International? Too many to list, but highlights:

Florence
Rest of Italy
Stockholm
Copenhagen
Paris
Geneva and Alps
Portugal
Morocco
Japan
New Zealand

Croatia & Montenegro (Adriatic sea) is the best spot in Europe at the summer.

For skiing the french Alps is the best spot in a world.

I voted "Other", but didn't see any place to comment. Since I'm doing it here, I won't limit myself to two. Surprise!

And of course, I live in FL, so most FL spots don't excite me more than being at home.

1. San Francisco
2. Key West
3. Washington, DC
4. Denver / Colorado Springs
5. New York City
6. Las Vegas
7. Boston
8. Chicago
9. Albuquerque / Santa Fe / Taos
10. New Orleans

But I'd always prefer travelling internationally:

1. Paris
2. Vienna
3. Amsterdam / Leiden / Den Haag
4. St. Martin
5. London / Wales
6. Berlin
7. Sydney / Melbourne
8. Aruba
9. Toronto
10. Budapest
11. Prague
12. Bologna
13. Geneva
14. Montreal
15. Vancouver

I'm Canadian, so if I travel to the US I am in a different country. If there's mountains and national parks, that's where you will find me. Hate cities, and riding my Harley through new areas and enjoying the nature can't be beat for vacations. Now I wish I could jump on the bike and go lol

It's tough to beat Hawaii for vacation spots (though it's a big time bucks trip), my wife & I honeymooned there, spending most of our time on Kauai, such an awesome place. If I had to narrow it down to 2, my second spot would be outer Cape Cod (heading back there this summer). After those, I really enjoy the southwest (Arizona/Utah/New Mexico/So Cal) and big rugged national parks like Grand Canyon and Zion.

Me and the wife went to Sedona, AZ back in September and absolutely loved it.

I highly recommend Enchantment Resort there.
