I have seen a TON of high-quality 9.5-11g chips. I was shopping around, getting samples, and showing players at our game when one of my friends said he likes HEAVY chips 13.5-14g. This got me thinking, "What high-end chips are made with lots of weight?" I would think that in order to have that much weight a chip would need to have a slug, and I typically see chips with slugs floating around the mid to low-end range. Do y'all have any suggestions for well-made heavy chips? What are your favorite chips that would be considered "heavy"?

I don’t really like heavy chips but these are pretty nice. B&G high end plastics, around 14g each

Those look pretty cool! Them being Russian may not have aged too well
Fair point, although, and I’m quoting myself from my sales thread of these, you never know:

”I’m sick of bumping this, cancelling for now. You know where to find me if you want em. Y’all gonna be sorry when Putin takes over the world and these will be the only kind of chips permitted”

I suspect that a search for heavy chips, ones beyond the common 9g-11g range are simply because heavier chips are more of a nuisance for table game dealers (blackjack, craps and even poker) to handle routinely throughout a shift. The "standard" weight range is heavy enough to keep stacks from falling apart from bumps, but also heavy enough to give enough heft to make them easy enough to handle.

Casino grade chips that are heavier than that range are going to be a bit more difficult to find. Chips over 13g are likely going to be slugged in some form (B&G's above, or crummy dice chips).

That's a really good point! Never really thought about that. If I had to handle chips all day every day I think it would be better if they weren't heavy. I've been using 13.5g chips for the past few years but honestly am not too picky about weight. The 9g-11g range is just fine with me and actually maybe even a little better since it doesn't hurt my wrist as much when shuffling.

Yeah, there’re not really any upsides to very heavy chips. At least not any I can think of

Our cheap plastic slugged chips are heavier than other cheap plastic slugged chips. How heavy, you ask? CaSiNo wEigHt!

So why skimp out on cheap plastic slugged 11g chips when you can get yourself cheap plastic slugged 14g chips for the exact same price?

BUY your CaSiNo wEigHt chips TODAY!

I can riffle heavier chips better and in larger stacks (2 stacks of 10) opposed to lighter chips. Idk why.

Did they actually play with these?
I believe these were Binions knockoffs, the spelling is incorrect on these “Binyons.” My guess is that Benny Binion sent the makers of these chips a “cease and desist letter” delivered by Moose and Rocco while holding the chip maker upside down from the balcony on the 20th floor of the hotel.
