I have wondered the same thing. Why only do it for the higher denoms though? I have never actually weighed them, but does that mean the higher denoms weigh more?
Only if that metal powder is gold.according to some guy on eBay those are "metal powers" that are mixed into the chip. That is why you can charge $13,000 for a PNY set.
100% correct. Brass flakes for ASM/CPC, typically aluminium and other light metals for Paulson.It's my understanding that the flakes are for added weight in the CPC/ASM chips. And Paul-son uses the flakes in higher denoms as a security measure.
