Hi!! I’ve been collecting $1 chips from casinos for about 15 years and recently stumbled upon casino chip trading. Been addicted to it since April. There seems to be different levels of chip collectors/traders. Some are veterans and only want the best near perfect chips and other who want racks of chips (which I’m still trying to figure out why). I fall under the guy who just likes to trade chips and want to collect as many different $1 chips as I can. Is there a place on this site that actively trades single $1/$2.50/$5 chips?

We certainly have other $1 chip collectors here but most people are here for full sets they can use for poker. Thechipboard.com is another great site that focuses primarily on singles collectors, but its design is a bit dated.

While I do welcome anybody and everybody here, I will say that us here at PCF are not chip collectors but set collectors. It is kinda difficult to play at a table where 87 different chips all have the same value

Welcome to PCF! Enjoy the forum and nice people here. I think there are some single collectors here as well or sample set collectors (one of each denom). But as others have stated probably more playable set collecrtors on here..

Still trying to figure out why? For the best reason - we play poker with them! I’m still trying to figure out why people collect one of each chip, to stick in a binder.
Welcome aboard! This probably isn’t the perfect place for you. There’s very little trading of single chips going on here, but you will see a fair amount of people selling single chips or small lots. But yeah, the primary focus of this board seems to be poker chips for home games.

Thanks everyone for a better understanding of the site. I don’t have any unusual chips, just the run of the mill casino chips. Keeps me entertained. I’ll have to look around now that I understand the background of the site.
