So this add on Amazon states "Fits Paulson chips perfectly", and is a total lie. These racks do not fit Paulson chips perfectly, so do not buy if that's what your looking for.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002R8GZAC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They are sold by Vegas supply store and in my opinion there is no way they don't know that these don't fit Paulsons.

I feel like I should have known better but when they come out and say "Fits Paulson chips perfectly" I figured I would give it a shot.

Consider yourself warned.

Right, but I feel like this is different, they are flat out false advertising.
Since there is no "official casino weight" and the "clay" is some type of composite that could fit someones definition of clay, its not as bad as saying that the product does something that it flat out does not. Its no big deal since they snap refund w/ shipping included, I just figured I would save people the trouble of returning.

What is the definition of perfectly, that they don't fall out? No! that's the definition adequate or minimally functional, they say perfectly, they should fit perfectly.

Like I said, I should have known better.

A common garbage sack holds Paulson chips perfectly. So do those racks. They just don't FIT paulson chips very well, but the seller never claimed that they did.

Reading fail, erroneous assumption, and wishful thinking on your part. Live and learn. :)

@BGinGA is correct that the ad says "holds" and not "fits" but I wouldn't consider how the rack "holds" the chips "perfect." The ad does state in print that they are "67.7mm Clear Acrylic Poker Chip Racks" Racks that fit Paulsons perfectly snug are 66.7 mm.

Are the racks you received actually 67.7mm, or are they longer? (longer ones are meant for cheaper plastic chips). Also, the photo in the ad certainly looks like the thicker plastic racks that are of a higher quality -- look at the thickness of the curved section on the bottom of each barrel. If the racks you received don't even look the same, you may have a case that they did not sell you the same product they are showing in their photo.

But if what you received looks like the photos, and measures 67.7mm, then you've got some high quality 67.7mm racks, and I wouldn't call it false advertising at all.

Some people on PCF are actually looking for high quality 67.7mm racks for other chips (ASM, CPC, others). Can you post some pics of the racks you received?

Lol, right!

In fairness to @BGinGA, he makes a valid point. The same issue exists with carrying cases for chips. Many cases "hold" 300, 500, 1000, etc., chips very well, but they may not be a perfect fit. The majority of cases require additional acrylic spacers to make things nice and snug.

"Fit" vs. "Hold" are two different things. And a fine example of marketing prowess.

Unfortunately, I sent them back already. I would say they were not as thick as the ones in the ad but I didn't measure or weigh them.

As GBinGA said, I should have read the ad more critically. I saw the bold print and pretty picture with the chips snug to the rack, and snap bought them, If I read that they were 67.7mm I would not have considered them. I still feel that they are misleading, but buyer beware. I have been buying the chipco racks from Apache, so I guess I will stick to that.

Where do you get those? I can't seem to find any.

Unique Enterprises makes the racks sold to casinos that are stamped "Paul-Son Chip 24010." But Paulson does not sell to the public, so they are hard to find outside of the occasional sale on eBay from some collector.

Unique sells their #4200 rack to the public. It is stamped "Unique Enterprises" instead of "Paulson," but otherwise it is exactly the same, and made from the same mold.

Details here... https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/new-paulson-chip-rack-supplier.15666/ (I recommend reading the entire thread - as there is a lot of good information in there)

Ask for Bob or Kathy. 702-649-5002.

And there is a difference between worn and mint/new Paulsons.

Yes... this!

Worn Paulsons will be "loose" even in a Paulson/Unique rack. Mint Paulsons fit snug. Slightly used Paulsons fit somewhere in between.

I think the Stardust Poker Mansion chips, which are "used but not rounded," are a good example of a "nice" fit. They are not snug in Paulson racks, but they aren't "sloppy" either.

The "perfect" rack does not exist anyway.

Chips and racks are not precision instruments. Each chip in a stack of 20 will have a slightly different thickness when measured with digital calipers. A stack of 20 will have a certain height. A different stack of 20 will have a (slightly) different height -- maybe not visible or noticeable. but you might feel it in the rack.

Shuffle the stacks and pull out any 20 random chips and you may get a new, different stack height.

Now add that the space inside the barrels of any given rack might also differ slightly, even the barrels in the same rack.

The only standard a casino cares about is this: 20 chips fit in the barrel. Not 19, not 21. Put the chips in the rack and send it to the table.

Even then, the dealer will proof the stacks for the camera, just to be sure that the high-end, professional racks they use carried the right number of chips, because sometimes they don't.
