I use a plug-in extension chord for both my tables - for my main table it powers a set of USBs, the secondary table it powers an LED raised rail. Given the power needs for the USB, that's really your only option (unless you go crazy with something like a car battery). IIRC there is a thread or two around about someone using a battery to power LEDs, those have a very minor power draw, so that's a possibility if you don't like the chord. Search is your friend
I tested it just letting it sit for hours and it barely used any of the battery. I have only used them in tables that weren't for me.
I have a lighted table in the works for me, so in the future I'll know all there is to know.
