I've stayed at the Tahiti Village (way off strip), the Stratosphere (technically on the strip... but yeah), the Bellagio (last year), and this year I'll be staying at the America's Best Value Inn & Suites just behind the MGM Grand (on a budget this year).

I usually play at The Venetian ($4/$8 O8B, HORSE or Mixed game) and The Bellagio ($1/$2 NLHE or $10/$20 LHE). Done a stint at the Golden Nugget as well, they had a great $2/$4 Limit Holdem game going. Haven't really tried other rooms.

I fell in love with playing at Aria on the last trip. I used to camp in the Venetian but the action at Aria is just so much better.

I'm going to a ally's for location. In Vegas I only play single table sit & gos. I'm a home game player for the most part. I go to Vegas for craps.

where i play: the slots in the airport
where i stay: the benches in the airport after i go broke on the slots

With the exception of one trip, we've stayed at Flamingo the last few times we've been in Vegas. The rooms aren't the swankiest but the price:location ratio is great. Bill's was the nuts and I get so sad every time I walk by and see the new place. *sigh*

I'm a big fan of the poker rooms at Aria and Venetian, too. We walked by the new room at Caesar's when we were there last month and it looked pretty nice (didn't play there).

A couple of years ago when I was there Planet Hollywood was running nice daily tournaments with a decent amount of guaranteed cash for the number of players as well.

I do my best to stay on the east side of Las Vegas blvd in the properties that connect to the $5 monorail (although most times I just get a multi-day pass). Typically I end up at the Flamingo as it has a nice mix of price and location. Once I stayed at the Imperial Palace - that's not recommended, but that's okay because they don't exist any more (it's now the Quad or Link or something). Stayed at Bally's a couple times - it's okay, but these days I'd rather stay in Paris for the money. What I will typically do these days, though, is use Priceline.com and get a better rate than I otherwise could. I'm at the point now where I just want a strip casino property at a cheaper rate, and that's what I end up getting there, to the tune of 25-50% off the lowest advertised rate on the property's side.

I've only been to Vegas once. It was an Anniversary vacation. I didn't get to play poker nearly as much as I wanted to.

We stayed at the Monte Carlo. That is where I played. It was profitable. Its a small poker room. Not recommended unless your staying there and only want to play short sessions.

I stay and play at the Flamingo. Can usually get my room comped during slow time (January), they have 2-4 limit holdem and 1-2 NL. They also have a couple blackjack tables that pay 3:2. Plus it's in the middle of the action on the strip so it's not far to walk to Caesar's, Bellagio, Aria, Bally's, etc.

I usually stay at Planet Hollywood or Paris. I usually go to places along the strip. Aria has been fun to discover, I played there the most recently.

What free monorail?

My bad, Moose, you're right (I'll edit my post). I end up getting the 4 day pass when I first get there so it feels like its free. Regardless, that's the one I take vs. the Monte Carlo/Belagio one - the monorail on the east side of the st. simply gets me closer to more of the places I typically want to go.

Stay - Anywhere, as I am not in my room for very long anyway - I have stayed at almost every property on the strip.

Play - My favorites are Aria, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, and Wynn.

Played at a number of places, only stayed at the Flamingo. It was decent enough. Of the rooms I played, my favorite was the flamingo by far.

The Venetian poker room has been my favorite for years... It's been maybe five years since I've played cash in any other casino in Vegas... It's really good to know some of you liked Aria (never played there)... I'm booking a trip with quite a few friends to be in Vegas the week on The Colossus but they are staying at The Cosmopolitan this time around (got a good deal) and playing Aria... I wasn't sure I wanted to go this route but I feel better about it now...

New York, New York. But next time I will be staying closer to the middle of the strip. Try and time a trip to Fremont street near the last Friday of the month. They make access to the Fremont street block 21+ only. It turns into a massive party with three stages and becomes just the most outrageous party I've ever been to. Not sure if it's seasonal but I asked why I'm being ID'd LEAVING the F'n casino and that's what the security guy told me. I will say I wasn't a huge fan of the Fremont casinos...four queens, binions....as a non smoker I found the old buildings with their low ceilings a bit much. Not quite as bad as the incense that the Excalibur flood their gaming floor with though....*cough, cough, gag*

The aria is VERY nice...maybe a little too nice. Their rooms are just frigging amazing though. I'll have to go through my phone to post some pics..but really...does anybody care what their room looks like?

... this year I'll be staying at the America's Best Value Inn & Suites...

For Jeff's Windy City a few years ago, I booked and pre-paid for four nights at a nearby ABV. After the first night, I left to find a hotel that didn't have pre-dirtied sheets and pillowcases.

You couldn't pay me enough to get me to walk into one of those places again. Hope your luck is better.

If I'm alone, I usually stay at the Four Queens downtown. Cheap, clean, near the Horseshoe for BARGE, etc. Easy bus to the strip.

If the wife is along, we usually stay at Marriott's Grand Chateau or Paris. Very nice, and quite central.

Have stayed in about a dozen hotels in Vegas but for the past 3-4 trips have stayed at Vdara. A nice suite is comparable to the price of Aria or Bellagio but the rooms and room amenities far better.

Primarily play: Venetian, Aria, Wynn, Bellagio and sometimes MGM.

I'll definitely be trying different pokerrooms this year. The Wynn and Aria looked really good when I walked past, just hadn't tried them myself. Never even been inside TI, PH, Cosmo, Vdara or MGM.

I've stayed and played at many Vegas casinos. My wife has achieved diamond with Caesars so we get comped rooms at most of their properties. While you might think this is a good thing I can assure you it is not. My goal is always to win more in the poker room than she loses at slots... A near impossible task.
We usually stay mid-strip-ish and I prefer playing wherever I stay, just for the convenience factor. Flamingo is probably my favorite room for 1-2NL.. I seem to do well there.

For higher end rooms I've played at Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian. I boycott Venetian nowadays because of Adelson's stance against online poker. I would say I liked Wynn the best. One of these trips I'll check out Aria.

Wynn and Wynn. Top of the line property with all the amenities you could imagine. Their spa is second to none. Poker room spreads numerous games, has nice tourney options, and is extremely accommodating with super friendly staff. Calls to you when your seat comes open, line passes for food service during dinner breaks, top notch cocktail and food service to the tables, expert dealers - just a superior experience.

I've only walked through the floor at Wynn once, but the whole time I kept expecting security to throw us out for upsetting the guests with our poverty.

Ive stayed at MGM Grand and Flamingo, prefer Flamingo pricewise and situationwise.

I played at MGM,Aria,Venetian,Bellagio. Loved the Aria poker room, also the buffet there is amazing.

Usually stay at lower cost (Bally's, Harrah's) and play all up and down the strip. Have stayed recently (last year) at Wynn, Bellagio, and Bally's, gotta say Wynn was the best. Mainly because they treated you well, regardless of if you were playing slots, VP, tables, poker, or just wandering around, the staff would make eye contact, say hello, ask if you needed anything, and generally make you feel like you were a valued guest. Bellagio, while they were polite, they did not want to make eye contact, and tried hard to avoid conversation. Yes, you may have been asked 2000 times where the toilet is, but it is my first, so no eye rolling please. Usually, Bally's is a good enough room for the price, need to try Paris as suggested above. In the past, have stayed at Flamingo, Tropicana, Jockey Club, Bill's, Aria, and maybe a few others, but Bally's is the better mid price so far, liked Aria, but if I am spending a bunch, rather go to Wynn. Have not been to IP/Linq/Quad/Whatever as reading reviews made me say no to a free room vs a $39 room. Pretty sure you can do a lot better than the Motel 6 types if you are member of any player club.

Think you can get free monorail with the total rewards facebook casino thing my wife plays, not sure if they are still doing it, but was available last year.

View from Wynn, who needs to ride the High Roller?

Always stay at mgm properties for the comps. Always stay at Aria and play at aria but there's nothing better than rolling through all the tournaments on the strip. Someone already mentioned Wynn has a great poker room as far as spread and action. As far as lose aggressive play goes u can't beat Bellagio and arias players. I'll be there for two weeks for wsop and a work conference runs right into that from May 28th on. Then back in July and September. It's like a second home and only a 60 minute flight. Can't beat it.

You can get the free monorail with the myvegas Facebook game. The total rewards one doesn't give shit all.
