Went to Vegas over the weekend and thought post a few notes about the trip. Not gonna be anywhere close to @Poker Zombie style so don't get your hopes up but I think you'll get the idea.

Flew Southwest out of KCI on Friday morning. Getting primed on the way out

When the attendant asks you at 9:30am if you want a double you say why not

Finally here!

Took a taxi to the Bellagio got stuck in the spa tower (booked run of the house room thru southwest)...pretty sure it's closer to the casino floor at the Aria than the Bellagio casino floor but I digress


The wife and I killed the rest of the day walking around a day drinking. Then off to see King George.

The man still has it. Somehow managed to get floor seats six rows back.

A little food TR now.

Ate at the Yardbird for brunch on Monday had the chicken and waffles FANFUCKINGTASTIC! Probably the best I have had, now before I get railroaded about Hash House's. I have ate there several times and they are damn good but these are better and a normal person actually has a chance of finishing the whole plate.

Went down to Fremont Sunday night and at La Comida just off Fremont and Las Vegas Blvd. Great food, margaritas, and mezcalitas

This is the only pick I have from there. As you can see my wife is totally sober(y) :thumbsup:

Last night we went to Top of the World in the Stratosphere. We had planned to go to the Stratosphere but not eat there, but could not have planned it much better as it was just at sun down snd was beautiful. A little pricey but if you figure you don't pay the $20 To get to the top that makes it a little better

Now for the poker. Played mostly limit

4-8 at the Bellagio

3-6 at the Mirage

Chips look like hammered dogshit. Can't tell if they spent 2 hrs in a TSP bath or have just faded this bad

Literally about 5 minutes after I sit down guy tables his flush and old lady tables her hand and says 'well I have a straight flush'... after playing with her for a couple of hours I dont think she was being a smart ass either.

Made it up to the Wynn for a couple of hours to play some 1-3NL. Ran my $100 buy in up to about $375 before coming back down to about even

A rack VG Harrahs. Cashier went and looked and couldn't find any brand new in box but went through a couple racks in the back and came up with these.

Just shy of 50 Bellagio In VG condition. Cashier wouldn't look so I dug these out over a few sessions in poker room

20 Mint Stratospheres straight outa da box. They wouldn't sell me a full rack

23 spotted Flamingos over 3 sessions. Sorry @David O no spotted birds

This was the very first one I found a few minutes after sitting down. .....an error chip! Just curious if any one else has noticed anymore of these

Failures

Luxor and Mandalay Bay. Old ladies wouldn't even ask their supervisors

I think part of it is getting the right person in the cage. I'll try those places again when I get a chance

That's what I said to myself a few years ago. Now if I see it on the menu I will order it 99.9% of the time. Same with Tuna Poke

Well I have expanded to all spotted flamingo chips. I need to find a way of talking you out of that error chip!

So you start off drinking Wild Turkey, saw George Strait, ate fried chicken, drank from a Mason jar, and your wife wears a KC jersey.

You know the NFR isn't until December, right?

I can confirm, GS puts on a great show, and I don't even like country music that much (I accidentally walked into a bar just before they started charging a cover charge for the night, and it turned out George was secretly preforming that night).


Looks to be a great trip - you got some great shots there. You gotta sell the error chip to David though.

Took an afternoon trip over to the Palms and they actually had Liga Privada No 9 Tubos. So naturally I sat down and had one with some Macallan 12.

Honestly thats the end of my bourbon and water prior to the smoke, the Macallan (with one cube, maybe that'll still keep me out of the church of whisky sinners) didn't seem to make any of my photos
