Vegas redux 2021 - Unleash the Power of the Pyramid (3 Viewers)

Epilogue - PLO has variance, who knew :wow: I really only got a few playable hands over 6 hours. Doubled once then bled and bled and bled calling $25-40 preflop raises and missing most flops.

Meanwhile, Mr. Queen high gets it in bad again and again but rebuilds his stack north of $3K. There were a few skilled players at the table but mostly just gamblers doing $500 flips. The sickest call was for $800 on the flop with an 8 high flush for a $2500 pot. They ran it twice and the flush won vs AA.

Overall, I had a good time checking out new casinos, harvesting some racks, eating some nice meals, and even losing a few bucks. I budgeted for $1K per day, and after all expenses I finished down about $600 - not too bad.

Thanks for following along - until next time …..

I was starting to wonder, with surge pricing and competitiveness, if the cabbies had closed the gap / stepped up their game. It sounds as if they have.
Random mini-hijack since we were talking about Uber pricing here.

I spent the past week in Boston, flying in and out of Logan. When I arrived (solo), it was $53 for an Uber to my hotel. I caught a cab for $38 plus tip.

Heading back to Logan today (with my family, so UberXL), the app quoted me $69. I wanted to call a cab again, but was concerned about getting one big enough for all of us and our luggage.

So I force closed the Uber app and checked once more. Less than a minute later, it was $51 for the same trip. WTF? They didn't show the usual "surge pricing" message either time.

I follow a vegas group on facebook and it seems cabs tend to have better (and fixed) rates compared with Uber or Lyft

The Uber app here in Washington DC is also offering a regular cab as a choice. Haven't seen that before...

True, but they're also a bit clunky to call and schedule by modern standards.

I likely paid more today for the convenience of scheduling via the Uber app and ensuring that I would get a car big enough for all of us with luggage.
