Will be in Vegas soon and looking for some help picking a room to play in. Will be playing 1/3 NLH. I'm wanting to have a fun time at the tables, drink, talk, laugh etc and not play in a game with local grindy regs, as this is a vacation for me. Maybe someone knows what casinos these certain people hangout at as I will like to avoid these spots. I've been looking into playing at Ballys, I know it is a smaller, older room but I have heard the games are good. One more thing I was curious about was the wait times in Vegas, is anyone familiar with them? How long should I except to be on waiting lists and are the week nights a lot slower than the weekend? Any insight is much appreciated! thanks all :)

Most rooms have call ahead lists... figure an hour at peak times. Use the Bravo app to figure out where the games are.

As far as $1-$3 NL (& $1-$2 for that matter), the Golden Nugget and The Orleans are decent options. Bally's is fine too - lots of locals play there (The Orleans too for that matter).

Is that bravo app accurate? I've browsed on it and seen you can see how many tables at certain casinos are running and how many waiting, but is it updated constantly?

Yep, Orleans has mostly locals, mostly older.

Bally's>Mgm>Aria>Venetian>Wynn in terms of seriousness. Have not played enough at Caesars to know how serious it is. Somewhere above or below Aria, I would guess. I would definitely check out Aria though. It is a top notch room. Bravo app is accurate. You should never wait long in Vegas, but the Bravo app has all the room phone numbers, so if there is a list, call ahead before you leave and you will be top of the list when you get there.

It's pretty accurate, give or minus one or two by the time you get there. But overall, it's a helpful tool. Every now and then you'll hear the various pit bosses reminding the dealers to update how many seat they have open at the tables, so lists can be updated.

You'll definitely want to call ahead for the Bellagio, Wynn and Aria.

Really? Weird, I heard Bally’s has fun soft games. Thanks for the input though, much appreciated :)
