Sahara cage won’t deal. Craps tables had plenty of everything in great condition. Took 1 rack of 1s off the table

Good Ballys 5s are getting tough to locate. Maybe 10% of chips pass inspection. About the same on 1s. So far about 140 more 5ers

I'm going on my first harvesting trip in January. I'm excited. I have no problem with poker rooms, but I've never played craps or table games enough to have a sense of what it would take to get a rack of $1s from a place with no poker room. I know the suggestions of "ask for a barrel for tips and repeat at multiple tables" idea, or "ask for souvenirs at the cage."

But assuming it's just grinding out $1's by playing craps or blackjack, what is a reasonable amount of time to expect to get a full rack? Has someone figured out the EV for x hours of harvesting this way?

It wouldn't take long at all but I'd recommend doing it over a couple or few sessions. Lucky for you, Sahara runs a $10 most all the time. Place the inside for $44 and collect $14 on each hit. Toss a $5 in and tell the dealer "check change" for 5 x $1. Pocket a few $1s every time and you'd be set pretty fast. Pfft, you may even win at craps if you're lucky lol :/

p.s. I assumed you'd be at Sahara, most other places are $15+ minimum which slows things down. You want Golden Nugget $1s? Walk up to the poker pedestal and say "give me 3 racks blue", walk away, easy as that.

With poker, it's MUCH easier if they are running limit games, like 3/6 4/8 where the $1 is the workhorse. Getting a rack of ones in a 1/3 or 2/5 NL game is going to be somewhat harder. I wish someone would harvest every single $1 from Southpoint so they might change out that awful no spot baby poop brown! #shiver
