pretty simple question. Would you rather have one massive set that covers every single game you could possibly want to host from one table of .25/.25 up to 2 tables of 2/5 or would you rather have 2-3 sets that have less playability

Hey, I'm still pretty new here, but I'm really enjoying having multiple sets. There are so many great looking chips that I couldn't imagine only having one set.

Variety is the spice of life. Massive variety is the cherry on top.
Multiple massive sets for me. (y)
One massive set that can handle a wide range. Lots of smaller sets that can fill specific needs to keep it spicy.
I like more sets. There's lots of good stuff out there.

All of these represent me pretty well. I would - and did - start with a variety of sets, then acquired a massive set to encompass pretty much anything, then acquired multiple pretty large sets that accommodate a variety of games to keep it all interesting.

I anyways think massive set first. Smaller sets are nice and I have some, but without a larger set you can have holes in playability and I don't like that.

Depends on your needs. I used to collect more chips than I needed -- I didn't really know what I needed. Now, given the games I run, I've found a nice size for my sets that allows me to have a variety while never running out of chips.

I should post my "micro sets" as I call them. They wouldn't work for everyone, but they tend to work for the smaller games I host. So far.

I've been leaning towards multiple smaller sets myself, between 600-700 chips each. Allows me more variety in chips and still plenty of bank for my 25c/50c game.

100/300/200/80/20 is my perfect breakdown

With mixed sets, this also allows me to move chips around to find the best combinations.

Would love variety, but cant justify it now at least. Would be great to have a few sets to rotate using. Also nice to have more than one setup for cash/tourney.

Would probably like to have one big main set that can handle all cash stakes I play, and maybe a few other smaller more speciallized sets for sngs, short handed cash games, hu or other stuff.

Cant really afford to keep multiple sets of 1000+ chips at this point

I agree about needing pr0n.

@gopherblue , I love the pic of your PCNY set.

Here are some of the different breakdowns I like for 25c/50c and keeping to ~600 chips.

100/300/180/20 (600)

100/300/200/80/20 (700)

100/300/140/40/20 (600)
OCD required me to have same breakdown on both sets on this day

6 sets for variety.... and one set to rule them all.......

-gc :).

If I can shamelessly (and admittedly very badly) nick your idea -

Seven for PLO in the halls of stone (insert local casino here),

Nine for HORSE games doomed to die,

One for Phil Hellmuth on his dark throne

In the land of Low-ball where the EV's lie.

One set for the all-ins, one set just to grind 'em

One set to bring them all and in Las Vegas bind them

In the name of Poker, where the EV's lie.

I realise that had zero fucks to do with the OP question. Answer: as many sets as possible is the only way to go.

If it were a custom set I was happy with probably just one big shamwow
Casino sets I'd probably want some variety
This is my scenario. I have a large-ish custom set. 1400 chips and am thinking about just continuing to add to it, or maybe grab a 1000ct Paulson set like HS Cinci/Cleveland

When I got my CPC set I thought I'd never get another Paulson set but I just love mint Paulson chips too much so I am now building my 3rd Paulson set (secondary Grand Victoria cash set). I like the variety!
