I found this set at a secondhand market. It's on sale for around €60. I wasn't familiar with this brand, and it seems to be a luxury brand. Does anyone have any idea what it's worth? I can't find anything on the forum or on ChipGuide. I googled Renzo Romagnoli and there are items for very high prices.

I was just thinking that, even though there are some of his items on eBay for exorbitant prices. I decided to ask if it was a total bargain. I asked for more information, but comparing it to what's on eBay, I think the most I could sell it for would be €120-150 with luck and patience.

I don't think the carousels are very appealing to people. The larger wooden cases with rectangular plaques will be more sought after.

Like @Taghkanic said, PCF isn't really the market for these. Personally, I'd pass on this even for 60.

Thank you very much for your points of view. It didnt take my attention, but later I googled and there are Backgammon sets of this brand for thousands so I decided to ask here better than missing a potential good oportunity

IMHO “luxury” sets like this sell to wealthy guys who hire a decorator to kit out the game room in their new McMansion.

The budget allows the decorator to buy stuff like overpriced darts and pool and poker sets, and club chairs from Restoration Hardware, and a bar, etc. So the ridiculous markup doesn’t matter. Nor does it matter that serious poker players and collectors don’t particularly value chips like these. These might get used once a year if that.

So yes, I would not be surprised to learn that brand new, these go for $1K or even $5K or $10K … brand new. Just not sure anyone buys them used at even 5% their original price.

I have a handful of these sets and they are basically a picture on my wall. I have them on a shelf and they may get used with the kids or on a board game instead of play money.

For €60 they are worth it for a convo piece. Maybe re-sell for double on the internet if you got em in person.
