Hi All,
Ive been looking at the Milano chip set. Just ordered a sample set. Im looking for at least a 500 count chip set. In this price range are there any other chips I should be looking at. I really want 10g ish (close to the weight of Casino Poker).
Im looking for a cash game set. Let me know your thoughts.
Thank you

What kind of blinds are you looking to play?

if you play $1/$2 and don't need fracs get the chiproom sale this sunday

Majestics... probably the best chips in the price range... with such a low per-chip budget Paulsons or CPC/ASM is going to be out of your range unless you go for rough condition chips...

Hah! New Mexico! I’m just north in Angel Fire. There’s a nice chiproom sale this Sunday where you can get used Paulsons for under a buck apiece. Should be able to get a playable set for $400, depends on your stakes and buyins.

even if you need fracs get the 1s,5s,and 25s from the chiproom then get soem blank milanos to label for the frac

Piling on here, but your timing as a new member couldn’t be better, get those Paulsons in the chip room sale.

If you decide down the line to go in a different direction, you should be able to sell the Paulsons for what you got them for (not necessarily true with some other alternatives). But there really isn’t anything of comparable quality in that price range, it’s a no brainer.

I would suggest following the advice above. Spend a bit more for Paulsons. You will absolutely love them and if you ever change your mind or want to upgrade you can get your money back out of them. To get rid of the China Clay's if you ever decide to upgrade, loose their value in the second hand market! Good luck with your hunt!!

Get in on the upcoming sale. If you need quarters, Paulson roulette chips in various are pretty easily acquired for well under $1/chip.

Definitely get samples if they are not Paulson. I bought all the low end sample chips and ended up with the nexgens. Mostly based on price. But I did like the majestic over the Milano. But mine were purchased mainly for a craps table. Not much fondling of chips at the craps table. So looks ok and serves its purpose with the nextgen. More of a hard “plastic” feel with the nexgens

I can do a 600-chip Bud Jones unweighted S2 (8.5g) Big Easy Casino cash set for about $408, give-or-take, including Priority USA shipping. PM me if you're interested, and I'll get you some pictures and a chip breakdown (includes manufactured fracs).

Royals! Not much more than Milanos, but much more than Milanos. Get samples, and compare (oil them to truly appreciate the difference). Or used Paulsons from the upcoming sale for a smaller set without fracs.

Thank you for all the replies. So many options.
Regarding this upcoming Sunday sale, the wife would kill me if I dropped a grand on poker chips. Lol. plus I don’t need a 2000 piece set.
im looking for .25, $1, $5, $20-25, $100 set
I’d like to host a .25 .50 blinds cash game limit with a 50.00-100.00 buy in. Thanks what I’m thinking anyway.

You would only need to buy the 2000 total if you are hoping to grab a rack of the fracs. If you decide to take the advice of sourcing the fracs than, from everything I have read you should easily be able to get the remainder of your set (1,5,25,100) after the 1st hour. If you opt for the used chips you can get 200,200,80,20) for under $300. All that is left is sourcing the fracs.
