It does seem rather selfish to marry the girl he's been with for 3 years on the same day as poker meet-up.
Seriously. If he was any more rude, he'd be a ska fan. Whatevs. Have fun dancing the chicken dance.

(But seriously - congrats to your nephew & his familly! You'll be missed.)

im still a maybe 3% chance of making it.

Knowing Bert would go all in with a gut shot straight in the main event against me definitely pushes it to 4% chance too. ;)

Flight booked. Although we will arrive in Seattle on Wednesday, we probably won't make the meetup until Thursday. Family gets dibs on Wednesday.

There is a small small small possibility that I can make this.

If I do make it, I’m fairly certain I would win the award for most miles traveled to get there.......

Had more outs than your AT in the same tourney if I recall correctly. :ROFLMAO:

Anyhow, you'll be missed. Or is it your beer that will be missed?

Commemoratives are in. I haven't taken any pics because I'm waiting for the trophy.

I’m working on finalizing menus for October, so if you have food allergies or diety restrictions, please send me a PM.

Also, post here any beer or drink requests. I have plenty of random booze and wine. I also have a bottle of scotch.

We will be renting a vehicle and driving in. However, we have noticed a small casino in Ellensburg, halfway in-between. Have you been there, and is it worth the time to stop?

The chips look nice* on chipguide, but bicycle tires, heavy smoke, shitty anything would all be deterrents.

* Nice = nice. Not necessarily rack worthy, but since I'm considering it, if anyone wants racks...

It’s a small casino, mostly college age crowd when we were hanging out there when buddies went to school there, CWU is in ellensberg. I never played poker there back then, not even sure they had a poker table/room, mostly blackjack and stuff like that.

The only other thing I remember is it isn’t open all the time, opens in the afternoon and closes at different times. Also closed all day some days. We were hanging out over there in the early 2000s though so things may have changed drastically since then but elensberg itself hasn’t changed too much so maybe not.

Yep, they say they open at 3 pm. I wouldn't make it a long stop - the plan would be for an hour on Wednesday. But at 3 on a Wednesday, I expect there to be no action, so it may be a bust. Actual visit would also depend on when the doors open at CdN.

It is basically a time-killer idea and to break up the drive between Seattle and Wenatchee.

Better idea for a time killer between Seattle and Wenatchee...take exit 80 and follow the signs to “Roslyn”. Have a drink and a bite to eat at the Brick Saloon, the oldest bar in Washington. Wander across the street to check out the Heritage Distillery. Take a selfie in front of the moose mural from Northern Exposure.

Edit: this is the sleepy little town closest (15 minutes) to my cabin. Give me a heads up and I’ll buy you a drink (depending on what day you roll through...I don't live at the cabin full-time, unfortunately)!

Sultan bakery is a must if you're coming through town in the morning or early afternoon on hwy 2. Good everything but usually a wait.

Do a snow dance as you go by Stevens Pass Ski Area please. ;)

Also, when you get off i5 and head east on 2 you are going to go right by my exit for Lake Stevens, make sure to honk and wave.
