Hi all,
I’m new here and just wondering what the best way is to sift out the EU or UK sales/auctions on here? I’m looking to start a quality chip set from scratch and as a newb want to make sure most of my money is going on the chips and not the postage.

I’m looking through the forums and struggling to see any Uk/EU sales for used items.

I understand this is an American forum, and think it’s great. Just wondering what the best advise would be for this, or if it is just going to be a case of stumping up the shipping?

Thanks guys.

I had a pretty specific breakdown in mind so, based on the low volume of UK/EU classifieds coming through over a few weeks, I bit the bullet and paid postage for a set from the US - $125 for $250 of chips... Was expecting to get pinged for import duties too but they never materialised.

I still check here on a daily basis for more local stuff, but may take a while to build out a full quality set

Cheers for the heads up guys. I saw a set of card moulds go on here a few weeks ago. 400 chips of lovely China-Club replicas for £50. :wow: Gutted I missed those. But yeh. Keeping my ear to the ground atm. I have a friend who's off to Florida next week and is going to harvest a bunch of ones from Hardrock Clearwater Casino for me too, so hopefully that goes well.

What are you after?

I'm pretty happy with my cash set (for now - the more time I spend on here the more I think there's room in my life for multiple cash sets...), but thinking about tournament options now. Long term plan is to go down the CPC custom route, but in the meantime will be keeping my eye on the classifieds in case the right used set finds me. Oh, and this week's obsession is bounty chips

Hi everyone, another UK member here. For those in the UK that have custom CPC’s or similar, how did you get them to the UK?

Given shipping/customs I’ve been considering shipping a set to vegas and picking it up, am I missing something?

Hmm I’m waiting for 1000 CPCs. Expecting the shipping and Customs bill to be approx £800.

I suppose you could fly to Vegas for less than that, CPCs aren’t made in Vegas though.

You could also try and find a friendly member Stateside who will re ship and perhaps not quite declare the full value on the customs label as well.

Yeah that’s what I’m expecting cost wise. I’m terms of reshipping I have plenty of US contacts who could do that but i still feel like cost would be significant due to weight.

I go to vegas at least once a year so my plan was to get David to hold the order until I know ill be there then ship it to where I’ll be staying. Then just pack an extra case and distribute all the boxes between a couple cases and I’ve in effect saved myself a bunch, does that sound crazy?

Not at all. Shipping 1000 CPC domestically would be around £120. It’s double that to the UK. Customs is the killer, not the shipping.

So painful - I‘m really keen on getting a low stakes 500-600 chip DDLM cash set but once you add the shipping and customs its out of reach I think!
