Two Rooks Labels (1 Viewer)

Worked with @p5woody to come up with some labels for my Majestic tournament set. He did a really great job coming up with several designs and I modified the colors a little bit. Any thoughts on these so far? These are by no means final and if you have any ideas feel free to share.

I will also be putting together a CPC cash set soon with the same theme/similar theme. Any thoughts on that would also be helpful.

Option 1 layout looks a bit off to me as you have all the space top-left

I like the layout of Option 2 better but am not a fan of the chess board. The rooks should sit neatly inside one square, so the board looks tiny or the rooks massive

^^This^^ Option 2 appeals to me way more but agree that the chessboard needs to be less prominent. I also like the affect you have going on in the first set with one rook clearly in the foreground, and slightly higher. That should be incorporated into Option 2. IMHO.

I actually like both designs. Have you considered having two different labels, one on each side? If you agree that the chessboard should be changed, (I happen to like it..), getting rid of the denom on that side should give you a bit more space to work with.

Images are better matched with the Tower & Spear mold than the Eight Crowns mold, imo.

I like both options, and would just go with two sided chips, one version on each side.

I greatly prefer design #1 to design #2. There is a bit of space on the top-left as noted, but at least it's not trapped space.

The twin lines in #2 are too thin - one line would work better. The chessboard is very busy-making.

If were up to me and I couldn't decide between the two designs, I would make half the chips with design #1 on both sides, and the other half with design #2 on both sides. I'm not a big fan of chips with different things front & back (but that's just me.)

Thanks everyone for your feedback so far. @p5woody sent over a few quick edits after some of the initial comments and I tossed them onto all of the chips and moved some stuff around.

Quick notes:

- I am not a huge fan of having two different labels on a single chip although I have seen a few pictures of it done well. I think if I were to ever do it it would be a simple inverse type look.
- @BGinGA, great point. Not a huge fan of the crosshatching on the CPS chips, although I agree that the tower/spear would look great. is there another option here?
- @Gear I see what you mean about the twin line vs solid line, I will look into that.
- What do you guys think of the color matching vs the red denoms?

Going back to the first pics/ I like option 2, but don't colour-match the labels (keep it white or silver on black). Get rid of the chessboards. Have the denom in the middle and the two rooks in the bottom (i.e. swap with the denom).

Job done.

I'm liking 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3, but in all cases I'd go for white denoms

Like @Gear , I like original option 1, but I'd go with a bolder look for the red denomination font (similar to that used on 2.3). Actually prefer v1.1 with the larger R (if with red denoms), and you might consider adding either "The" or "Two" in very small text above the R in that upper left corner. But I think it's fine as-is.

Really dislike the Two Riiks logo. :

For the other designs: either all red or all white denominations -- helps to tie the set together and makes them easier to read, especially when viewed in actual size.

Yeah I agree...and I love red denoms. Probably go all white or maybe color-match.

I like version 1.1 best, but maybe try a pink denom for the hundo.

Make sure you print those out in real-life size and view them on the poker table before ordering. That will quickly reveal any issues with readability. I'd be concerned that the green text and darker blue text (and maybe even orange) on black background will get lost.

Disagree. Sometimes we need to put ideas on paper and/or share them before we can see what we missed when it was only in our head. The design isn't uncreative, but it does inadvertently convey a message different than intended.

I accidentally named that second one Version 2.5 too. I really like these ones. It makes me sad to leave Option 1 and 1.1 behind. Perhaps I will use that for my cash set.
