Anyone see this news?

If anyone is going to be in Atlantic City soon, and wouldn't mind stopping by the Taj poker room to check out the condition and look of the chips, it would be appreciated.

I wonder if they will be using brand new "fresh" chips, or the old, dirty, worn chips. I always liked the color spots on the $1 chip, and even if the chips are worn, I wouldn't mind picking up a rack or two the next time I head to AC, which might not be until fall, at the earliest.

I'll be down to check it out this weekend most likely. If they have fresh chips on the tables I'll grab a couple racks of $1s for you if you want.

I'm not that hopeful and it's not a good sign that they STILL haven't gotten on Bravo, but we'll see.

If they're in good shape and you wouldn't mind grabbing me a barrel of 20 for my mixed set @jbutler I'd very much appreciate it!

No problem. If they didn't order new chips for the reopening then what chips they do have will almost certainly not be worth harvesting, but I'll take a look.

Agreed, it's been several years since I've played at the Taj, and even then most of their chips were pretty gross. Hopefully they bring out some minty fresh ones for the re-opening. Thanks!

The Taj doesn't spread poker anymore. Borgata, Harrah's, Bally's - they're laughing at us. The layoffs of 2014? A terrible deal! We have stupid people who are out on the floor - really stupid people making terrible deals.

The Taj noodle bar? It's shit, very high MSG. The Taj built a high roller slots room. It was a total disaster.

Look, we are going to have a Bad Beat Jackpot so big and so strong, but we're never going to have to use it. Okay, maybe we'll use it a little, but there will be very few bad beats at the Taj poker room

We don't bink anymore. We don't dodge flush draws. When the Taj poker room is back, we're gonna bink again. There's gonna be so much binking, you're gonna get sick of binking.

Pretty sure Donald Trump has zero ties to any of the casinos. I remember him freaking out about it in an interview. He wanted to sue but couldn't for some reason...

@jbutler Thank you! Mighty fine offer, and I'll take you up on it. The way I see it, there's 3 potential outcomes:

A) If you find fresh new Paulsons like the old Taj $1s, and can grab 1 or 2 racks (either is fine with me), I'll pay you face value + harvesting fee + shipping for them.
B) If you find new Bud Jones or other chips, post a pic here on this thread. (I'll probably pass, but who knows).
C) If you find used Paulsons, I'll just wait until next time I go to AC to choose whether to harvest a rack or not.

Will do - I'll let you know.

Did @jbutler or anyone else get over to check out the Taj Mahal poker room reopening? And the chips?

Sorry I didn't make it to AC this weekend - played home games near my house Saturday and Sunday.

Unfortunately, from what I can tell from the 2+2 Taj thread, the chips in use were the same ebola-infected nightmares as always and the room overall left a very "meh" impression.

i saw someone post there was 5 tables running , 4 1/2 tables of NL and one 2/5 table

I didn't mean to imply that there was no action, just that there were no improvements to the room itself or to the policies in place (apart from the new rule of not allowing food in the room which is a very good change imo).

oh no, i agreed, 5 tables for a newly opened room is not worthy of anything. I wasnt denouncing your claim, just literally stating the action i saw; which was not much
