I'm hosting a farewell game for prolific Chiptalk member Michael Noel (aka "Noels", aka "MEGATRON").

WHEN: Saturday April 11th at 5:00pm
WHAT: 25c/50c NLHE only for the first hour ($40 max buyin); after the first hour we play the usual rotation (NLHE/Pineapple/PLO/Big O/SOHE) at a max buyin of $125 or half biggest stack
FOOD: I'm providing pizza and grinders; table snacks will also be available and I believe that midnight brownies are in effect via the CLB
DRINK: Smuttynose Finestkind IPA on tap with assorted mixed drinks, bottled beer, soda, and water

TOURNEY: We'll play a short uber turbo tourney at 8:00pm - 10 minute blinds, 5K stack, turbo structure (Dunes Paulson tourney chips).

Reply here to lock up a seat - capping this at 16 people (2 tables) and the email just went out to regs so seats should go pretty quickly.

LOCKUP LIST
1) Bergs
2) Noels
3) Chicken Rob
4) Silverspoon Mike
5) Malaka
6) Gopher
7) JM
8) Jim
9) Guinness
10) IBetOnEverything
11) Jose Rijo
12) Onerand
13) Christian

I'm in via email already, but I'm wondering something. What's the deal with this bit about the first hour? Is there going to be a $40 mandatory straddle? Or is that $40-a-point OFC? I don't understand.

Nolesy likes his lower stakes HE games of years gone past, and this is the Noels Farewell Game, so we thought it'd be a tribute to Noels to have buyins during the first hour be $40. Just plan on blasting through 3 of them trying desperately to double up in 8 way all in pre pots and look at it as one buyin.

No one has said where Noels is farewelling to ... unless I missed it over at CT.

Noels is heading to the United Kingdom, predominantly for the timeliness and excellent quality of national healthcare. Also, no Obama in the UK.

(J/K...he has a job over there and will be an ex-pat...really good deal for him and is something he'd done previously and enjoyed).

Yeah Noels is from Wisconsin, moved to Boston, moved to London for a few years, back to Boston, now back to London. As we say goodbye... a little memory lane...

For all you NFL fans, his dad, his uncle, his brother and Noels worked for the Green Bay Packers growing up (equipment managers), starting with Lombardi. Noels was selling hot dogs as a 13 year old in the stands of the Ice Bowl in 1967!

Noels as an akward teenager standing on the sidelines with Ray Nitschke:

The funny thing is that all old Green Bay Packers documentaries have Noel family members in them, but they are all just walking by in the background working lol.

Noels uncle in the middle, walking by...

If you watch the NFL series "A football Life" during the Lombardi episode, his dad is in the locker room walking by as an equipment manager (in white on the left).

Noels as a rebellious 21 year old, looking for chicks, not chips.

His old London game, which I'm sure they're all saying... "Hey remember that Min buying rock we used to play with? He's back!"

Love the throwback thread! And me looking like I'm ready to take a dump standing next to Ray! My only job that day was to make sure Ray had his cape! Period. Oh, and inbetween Wisconsin and Boston, I had a 10 year stint in Minneapolis cheering against the Vikings, and then to Dallas for six years cheering against the Cowboys....and now I date a girl in Dallas who I dated 25 years ago!

And in honor of this momentous game, I'm asking Bergs to bump the starting buy-in back up to the normal $100 or whatever. I'm playing in this game no matter what against the sharks in the lineup ready to take me to the cleaners.

FWIW, these games at Bergs are just plain the most fun nights of the year.

Chicken is going to have unprecedented beer equity at this game.

I have a few craft brews from microbreweries for people to try if they're interested.

I have 7 growlers of craft beer, 3 750ml, 2 bottles of Lunch IPA, 12 bottles from Ballast Point, 32 cans of IPA and pale ale, and an assortment of other beers. Chicken has unprecedented beer equity.

Chicken - tell Nick and Scott they're welcome to come over as well.

Sorry I cannot attend this one. Shaping up to be a classic.

Bon Voyage Mike! If you play a few hands this game, you might be able to pay for your trans Atlantic shipping costs!.

I have a charity walk with CLB the next morning and need to be reasonably well put together as she's on the board or some such thing. Gonna be tough to hold back with so much good brew in the hizzy. Really looking forward to this game.

Into the breach, we donk again. Fully SOHE converted. The thrill of sweating a 4 outter to chop a pot with $500 at stake and take a $10 profit is unparalleled. Noels have fun and good luck!

More like $0.75 profit for chopping that $1k pot.

Great playing with everyone. Rob, thanks for being a generous host, as always. Noel, have a blast in the UK. Big stacks at the other table.

Thanks, again, bergs, for hosting and putting me up for the night. Tried sending you an email but it bounced for some reason.

Kick things off with an amazing tasting session mid afternoon, courtesty of Malaka and Berg. Thank you guys so much for not only delivering god-like beer but giving away leftovers. We were humbled by both the quality and quantity lol. Number on the right is the beeradvocate rating.

With Blurple chairs, Chicken is in his own element talking to Jim. Yes that is chiptalk JM on the far right.

Guess who is stuck? If you guessed "Brooklyn guy wearing table cloth" you win!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did Berg dump this after his first sip? I don't know, but he is sure is happy!
IMG_20150411_180631002.jpg

Malaka is giving his I Am Iron Man effort downing that 5.9% Root Beer (amazing btw) while Berg and I are starting off the session with rosy cheeks.
IMG_20150411_182227752.jpg

The alcoholic root beer being presented by a guy who looks like he tells a mean story while pan handling. Blurple is checking his phone on Urinal Futures.

OMG how is the Grapefruit Sculpin? We have the regular Sculpin down here but I've heard the grapefruit version is mind blowing and haven't been able to find it

The Grapefruit is delicious. Ironically I had a few at my house and thought it was terrible, but I think mine were horribly skunked because the ones at Bergs were fantastic.

Reg sculpin is okay, but grapefruit is just straight up delicious.

LOL @ Malaka in his drunken "How would you sell me this root beer?" pose.
