Anyone eyeing that Gardena 5 cent frac be aware the inlay is coming up on it. Once they curl it is very hard to get them back to norm. Doug suggests just using a spring clamp and coin on them for awhile and it will readhere itself. This is unfortunately a VERY common occurrence on these fracs. I have yet to find one that has crosshatching and doesn't appear like a relabel. Cheap production I am guessing for such a cheap chip to begin with.

well I've been bitten by the bug.

Not exactly sure where it will end but i sure am liking the TRK chips. A LOT !
Did TRK have more control over their inlay designs? seem almost all the chips i've seen dont have the spectrum of quality issue that Paulson have.
And when i say quality, i mean the design side of things. Paulsons seem more "you payed for it- design it how you like" kind of thing.
But with TRKs it seem like there is a higher standard for what got made. AM i way off base ? sure would like to learn.


Anyway.... here are a few recent acquisitions.

Sharkey's $0.50 red hot stamp (decent condition - not new but no serious wear)

Harrah's Reno and Lake Tahoe pink with blue and white accents $0.25 (fairly rounded)

Palace Club yellow $0.10 (used, with a small flea bite)


What's a fair price for these? I think the seller is asking way too much but just want to make sure that my offer is fair.

I would guess $4-7 for each? Am I way off?

Not sure about the first one, but the other two should be at the bottom end of that valuation. Maybe a bit lower.

That's pretty much what happened. Lol.

I forget when it was, but chips didn't always have to have denoms on them. That requirement was added (in the early 70s maybe?). Could be that the chips were originally in use without the denoms then added later for compliance.
