Going to spend a long weekend coming up in Philadelphia at this casino. Property is a year old - are chips beat to death already? Anyone have experience with the action? I’m typically a 1/3 player but could be convinced to shake it up in 2/5. Thanks for the advice and feedback in advance.

My wife and I have been there several times and we love it. Slots are cool, place is kept clean, and some decent spots to eat. For being in the middle of the angriest city in the country, we've found it to be pretty nice. I was born and raised in Philly, so maybe I'm just used to trashy.

As for poker, I've never played there. Room is a decent size, but it has been relatively empty in the times I've been there. A lot of the good games happen at Parx, which is about a 30 minute drive up 95. If you have a car with you, could be worth the trip if Live is slow.

Anyway, I really hope you have a great time. My wife and I tend to hit a local casino every Saturday, so if we pick that one on that day, I'll stop over and say hi.

Good games can be had there at times. 1/2 nl is the norm . Sometimes a 2/5 opens up but only on Fri sat night and that’s iffy if it opens. Parx is a lot better room !

But I’ll take a rack of $2 if you can shake them out lol

I stopped in before a concert with some friends…one of which was a project manager during the construction. It was a very nice place. I didn’t play but the chips I saw didn’t look that bad….but I wasn’t handling them.

Evidently they made many cut backs to save money vs the original plans but the place still looks very nice.

Thanks for the feedback! It’d be great to say hi! I’m kicking myself for forgetting to bring a sample set from my customs to give to any chipper I meet but like with most things I forgot

They are getting beat up but can find many $2 chips that are sexy
I’ll see what I can find! Of course I forgot to pack a warnke box or two.

A friend of mine keeps trying to get me to go play up there. This is his feedback:
Run of the mill small poker room, But cash game is just a bunch of people gambling not playing quality poker
Sounds just like the game I’d like to play! Thanks for the tip. :)

I was in Philly for work over a weekend in early October 2022 and hit the Live casino poker room on Saturday and Sunday night.

I found the poker room to be cozy, with an easily accessible bathroom in the poker room. The cashier's cage is easy to spot to the left once you enter the poker room. Also, there's a row of ATMs to the right of the main entrance to the poker room (didn't get them in the photo when I walked in). Always good to know where the ATMs are located at a casino just in case you have to make the dreaded walk of shame  :ROFLMAO:

Played 1/3 the first night, was a $400 max buy-in, chips were in good shape.

Wasn't there on a harvesting chip, but I pocketed a few $2 chips. Had to grab one for @kirchhausen since he recommended the poker room to me and loves the $2 chip.

On the second night, I played 2/5, which had a $1,000 max buy-in.

The action was kind of slow and soft on both nights. Was hoping for more action on the last night I was in the town because the casino is like a 10-minute walk from Lincoln Financial Field and the Eagles hosted the Chiefs earlier in the afternoon. Figured more folks would be in the poker room splashing pots.

That said, overall a nice atmosphere.

Maybe I'll find a way to head up there tomorrow night lol

Another successful session in the books last night. Excited to bring home a bunch of 2s (in great, sharp condition) and some other chippies for a few folks. Probably got 4 hours of sleep total between Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night sessions but had a blast! Dealers are great, room is clean, and there is good action during prime time. Game plays pretty soft 1/3. If you have an edge against the average game you’ll be +ev here. Excited to use the winnings on the grand sale! Only complaint is cocktails can be slow at times but the service is friendly. Oh and no bad beat jackpot but rumor had it it may come back soon. I look forward to returning if I have the chance!

How were the rooms? I mentioned that I have an alternative to AC that’s a lot closer and now my wife thinks we should get a room for the night
Honestly just as the photos look online. Absolutely felt clean, new, and comfortable. Im no well traveled player but I can say its the best casino hotel ive stated in when it comes to those items in the previous statement. Perhaps a little pricey on the weekends but I assume that’s the case at any casino.
