Hey all!

How many of you have tournament sets (especially T25 base ones) that do not follow traditional color progression of Green/Black/Purple/Yellow/Orange??

I am considering pivoting my Casino Grade cash set idea from a cash set to a Tournament set using Blue/White/Red/Green/Black.

For those using non traditional colors, how do you like the set? Are they confusing to your players or you?

I am debating whether I should sell these murdered chips of mine or turn them into the tournament set basically.
My other project is a cash set that is in much better condition.

I’m more of a traditionalist with colors but is it possible to do off colors. Light green instead of standard. Gray instead of black. Something like that.

^^^Exactly. And if you'll be using nontraditional colours, you might as well consider nontraditional denoms, too. Like T25, T100, T500, T2000, T10000
I'm considering doing a T base that I am unfamiliar with like a T100 or T500 base.
I am split between that and keeping it a T25 base for the sake of familiarity if I go this route.

All else being equal sure I would do a color correct tournament set. But, no, I don’t really care very much.

is it something you ever see yourself getting rid of?

If not, then make the chips any color you like and build it your way

I am working on a et and i am using nonstandard colors because it is what i want

Unless your player pool is super used to casino tournaments, I doubt they’ll even notice. Most people just play with random dice chips, so just having numbers on a chip is a bit upgrade.

what breakdown of each color do you have? With those colors, I’d consider doing something fun like starting at T100 or even T1000. Could do T100/500/1k/5k/25k, T100/500/2k/10k/50k, or T1k/5k/25k/100k. Have fun with it.

I honestly don't think it matters as long as they are clearly denominated. Any confusion should clear up after an orbit anyway.
You would think. But no. Personally, when I sit down at a tournament with colors I'm not used to, it takes me an hour or two to get used to them. I will almost certainly misfire once or twice. Not sure what that says about me. Maybe I'm too busy thinking about everything you have to consider in every hand of a tournament. Or maybe I'm slow on the uptake. But if you're looking for votes, count mine as a NO for nonstandard colors.
