I think I just read through an older post about how rhc were a pain to mill because of the odd bit size you need. It was referring to rhc chips with inlays though, maybe hot stamps would be easier.

Any chip with with an inlay should not be milled, but rather should be hand murdered. The results will be much better. If you mill chips with an inlay there will be 2 problems: there will often be a double ring/recess. 1 where the inlay was and another where the mill cut. Problem #2 is that often there will be little bits of the inlay left behind. Both issues are a result of the mill not cutting exactly in the same spot as where the inlay was.

As has been already stated the impression on RHC is 1 1/16" dia. On a THC it is 7/8" dia. Since 1 1/16" dia is rather large, it is not common to have a flat bottom mill that large so that is the difficulty. 7/8" flat bottom end mill is commonly available.

Nah. We found a bit that's exact size. Hot stamps aren't an issue and mill great.

Inlaid, I will always recommend overlabeling or hand murdering.

Can you pass along the make and manufacture of the bit you are referencing?

would anyone know if the diamond jacks rhc's are leaded?
The Diamond Jack tournaments carry around 40% lead if all carry a weight in 10.4 range

The Diamond Jack cash chips carry around 10 - 6% lead with $1’s, $25’s, $500’s being around 10% as they are upper 9g range(revised/reduced leaded), $2.50 and $5’s around 6% as those colors currently non leaded would be in the low 8g’s.
$100 being 6% as non leaded blacks would be 9.2/.1 range.

Also pips(edge spots) will have more or less lead depending on color and will affect weight too.

The IOC at 11g is 60% lead, any chip 11-10.4 is 60-40%

Jumers T set will be around .5-0.005% (“0.003%” state limit) lead but not the primary cash chips sold earlier as they switched up the original chips later and those were made when non leaded chips were being made(current Paulson chips)

Not a matter of leaded or not but how much lead. Diamond Jack opened in 2006 which makes chip production start in late 2005, with their tournament rhc chips weighing 10.4 shows they did not remove large amounts in 1998.

Please don't take offense, but because you're the only person I've ever seen speak with such specificity on Paulson lead content, I have to wonder if you actually know what you're talking about. I want to believe everything you say on the topic because it would be nice to have these exact answers. But you seem to be certain about things that nobody else knows.

I swear I already spoke about this to you

Besides being a collector for 24 years(experience) and previously knew someone that worked at Paulson who told me… there is articles and investigations you can find on the internet so you can put two and two together.

However, if you need face proof as I stated to you guys before on this topic, get a lead surface test kit, rub a used/new chip whatever you fancy on sand paper and test the dust. Faster it turns the test color, the more lead. Oh and I work as a Ballistics tester and had chips tested as we test for lead here.

And no offence taken, I’m glad to educate.

Good idea, but I won't be going to the warehouse until after the sale. Usually slugged chips are at least 10 grams
FWIW the Tropicana cash chips (previously available) do have a metal center -- at least, the 2 or 3 chips that I removed labels from one side did.

I have a strong magnet that is only just barely able to pick up these chips, even with the label removed. (I use this magnet to hold up a big wreath on my front door in December -- it's not a wimpy fridge magnet!) I suspect a weaker magnet wouldn't even register.

Will there be any Jumers T5000 Hotstamp Chips in future sales? :) Or do they even exist?
