I put in a bid on the 5's, just for fun, I know I'll get outbid, just wanted to PUMP IT UP ;)

After the discussion of the last sale thread, maybe Jim should decide (as always & I think the is doing a great job anyway for us) how and when to sell his chips.
PS: I don't want to be the reason to start another discussion, but maybe we should just let him do his job.

PPS: Great chips.

Hard to try to build a set when you have to bid on individual racks. Unless money is not an issue lol. GLWS Jim.

Really?

So pre-made sets are the only way?

Chips by the rack is actually a pretty damn good way to build a set, better than by the barrel.. or singles... Come on now how spoiled someone be that buying RACKS of chips isn't good enough?:rolleyes:

Yeah, I would prefer by the rack. Just in the current situation, it's not gonna be the cheapest option. But premade sets limit you and then you need racks to complete them anyway.

Because if you want say 3 racks of $1s or 3 racks of $5s it is going to take you a MINIMUM of 3 weeks to build your set, IF you are able to outbid everyone 3 weeks in a row. Say you pass for 3 weeks and let others fight it out, then you are looking at 6 weeks to build your set. Now at the end of 6 weeks MAYBE 2 or 3 people have completed a set to their liking. Meanwhile many others continue to wait it out and so on...Christmas anyone?

Show of hands: who has spent months if not years trying to put a set together?

We had it good.... We no longer have it as good. This is the option. The chips are beautiful and worth the time, in my opinion. It's not something we need, it's something we want. We can work with the system provided or not. We lucky Jim isn't just shutting the entire thing down and going straight eBay forever. He said it was until he came up with a better plan.

I fail to see any issues that weren't made by us.... I'm thilled these and the NL secondarys are coming out. Frustration is fine, but pushing against the current isn't going to change anything past make the frustration worse.

Buy them, don't buy them. I'm buying. It's that simple.

Aside from time, using this method could result in someone owning a few racks for an unplayable set because they miss out on the rest. At least with the PP cart I get to see what I can or can’t get before I commit the money.
And God help the poor bastard wanting to sell those random racks they can’t make a set with. I guess the flipper clause is lifted if purchased in auction format though eh?

It all is what it is, I suppose. Better to have them out there than not.

I think that's my view. I'd rather have them out and available then put away. Is it perfect? No way! But it's life. Better then them getting notched and tossed.

And if someone has some sets, I highly doubt anyone will have a hard time selling the racks. For relabeling or a full set.

There may be an answer to my following question in a post that I missed.

Has Jim released a total count available on these chips?

Without a total count per denomination, the sales process will be wickedly slow and expensive for buyers.

Just a thought— has anyone discussed buying complete sets with Jim? That would be a much easier way to move the chips and he could do them as a buy it now...
