I am getting married to the love of my life in a few months. I’m the luckiest guy in the world - she kicks ass at poker (typically covering my losses  :ROFLMAO:) and loves it as much as I do.

Although she is not obsessed with chips like us, I am proud to say she does scoff at dice chips anytime she comes within 10 feet of them. Clearly she is a keeper, right?

We typically start our date nights with a few drinks while playing heads up. I LOVE alternating with her in using a set of our choosing each time. But it is about time for her to have her own...

I wanted to do something unique and the roulette solids somehow caught on. I luckily nabbed a handful of racks that were perfectly aligned with our wedding colors and I’ve been off on the hunt ever since. Here is where we are today!

I hope to use this thread to get inspiration and feedback over the next few months. I have already drawn incredible support and kindness from many wonderful members here. (More on that in a following post :)) Here is the final design!

Cool! …"Runaway Bride Hotel & Casino"?

Thank you all, PCF, for your incredible support and guidance over the short time I’ve been around. Can’t help but mention @detroitdad for the pages and pages of pms to give advice and feedback stemming from one of this set’s inspirations, those beautiful sunsets. @allforcharity for watching out for new chippies like a hawk and pointing me to a really important eBay purchase at one point.

And then of course this... holy crap! My ‘degenerate friends’ :ROFLMAO: pitching in to send over these two beautiful racks of petunias out of no where!? I was freaking out when they arrived because I figured I must have bought them but forgot to pay!

I can’t believe the outstanding kindness. Thank you all, friends. I’ve got so much chip karma to repay!!! :D:D:D

Congratulations, @Ethan!

I'd like to get my wife to play poker, but if she did, I'd never win at my home game, ever!

First, congrats! She sounds awesome, and the excitement in your words is palpable. I wish you a lifetime of happiness.

Now, that said, these lines

Although she is not obsessed with chips
I wanted to do something unique and the roulette solids somehow caught on.

reminded me of this:

Congrats to you on your upcoming nuptials. Hopefully your trips are always winners and you take no bad beats along the way.

Mark

Congratulations!

I've often said that poker shouldn't be a "man's" game. I've also said that couples should share a hobby. You have got both bases covered, and are truly fortunate.

Congratulations, @Ethan!

It'll be 12 years of marriage for me in March. On the rare occasions where she'll play, I lose even if I win. Her idea of buying in is taking money out of MY wallet. ;)

Still... wouldn't trade her for the world.... though I might for a minty set of paulsons.

Gratz Ethan.

What about the prop bet? I didn’t wager, but I’m interested in the result. :)

I think the true rookies are those who haven't had kids. ;)

Found this in my home office this morning:

Normally I have them up high on my shelves but left them out after moving things around.

My three year old’s explanation:

“Kitty wanted to play.”
I love bad prop bets ...

Congrats!

I thought about doing custom CPC's as an inexpensive but unique wedding favour. In the end, we skipped wedding favours, and most other extras entirely. Throwing a party for 350 family and friends wasn't cheap. :banghead:

Something tells me that you @Ethan has been spreading around chip karma all along and sounds like your getting some back. I’m a new chipper and Ethan went above and beyond in helping me secure a rack of chips that I was looking for. I hope that I can do the same for another.

Congrats again on the wedding. Very cool that the bride to be loves poker. A bonus! Just celebrated my anniversary yesterday. Here we are 18 years later with two kids in high school and still going strong. My wife enjoys an occasional scotch and has sat in at our game a couple of times. That must be the secret! Wishing you the same good fortune!
