THE PRESTIGE GROUP BUY (GB COMPLETE) (5 Viewers)

Thanks for replying. I'm so new to this hobby and still have a lot to learn. So when you say that your casino customers request this glossy edge, may I ask what are the advantages of it, over a matte edge?

I am also new to this community, and there's a lot for me to learn as well.

For your question, why the casino customers prefer to have a glossy edge, to be honest I don't really know. We supplied our chips to casinos/distributors/poker rooms/tournament organizers including regions of Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe, and both South & North America. For commercial NDA reason, I cannot reveal their names but none of them asked us for a matte finish rolling edge. In fact, if I recall correctly, there's a few of them asked specifically for glossy edge. They may have their own reason, yet we haven't further asked them why they'd prefer this rather than a matte one.

As for home users, like members in this community, I still think this is something down to personal preference, like I said before, if there's enough demand on the matte rolling edge, then SURE, WHY NOT? Let's think about how to raise enough funds to make a new mold for the next GB or any other possible events, there's no technical limitation to make a mold with matte edge, and there's no rocket science behind this, it's all down to how many members would like to have this kind of surface finish.

Thank you for raising this question up to me, for the time being, I am very busy because I'm involved with several projects that causing by the pandemic, it is a chaos time for all of us... Anyway I'll dig in to this when I have more time, maybe after the PRESTIGE GB project.

Thank you for your great answers, and your patience with my many questions. You are clearly someone who cares about customer service and that makes you and you company someone that our community should want to continue to work with. I wish you the greatest success with this group buy, and I look forward to seeing the next one.

All orders can be done in a 'semi-customize' way - mainly the writings. You may pick up the colors (each one has a unique code on it) and decide what denomination you'd like to have. And, if you prefer to have another name, 'Morgan' for example rather than the original 'Prestige', we can also help you change the writings as well as the initial 'P' inside the shield.

Here are the denomination options provided by Woody for your reference:
1¢, 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, 50¢, $1, $2, $2.50, $5, $10,$20, $25, $50, $100, $500, $1000, $2000, $2500, $5000, $10,000, $20,000, $25,000, $50,000, $100,000, $250,000, $500,000, $1,000,000, 3-dot non-denominated, RE-BUY and Bounty.

SHIPPING
We fully understand that everyone would like to have their own sets on hand as soon as possible, however during this special pandemic period, the air shipping cost has increased almost 6 to 10 times and it keeps changing every single day, therefore we would most likely choose sea freight as our first option if the air cost was still on a high level by the time when we are ready to ship out all GB orders.

Sea freight usually takes about 22 days from our port to the ports around the west coast area of the US, plus custom clearance and ground shipping to Tommy's location, roughly it'd take about 30 days in total.

Tommy will reship your orders by putting our packing boxes into the USPS MFRB once he receives the bulk shipment, this part of cost will be calculated and collected by us when you place the order, we'll then wire these funds to Tommy once we ship out the bulk cargo.

HOW TO ORDER AND PAY?
Simply send email to sales@sun-fly.com with your ordering quantity, customization information as well as your contact info (Address/ZIP code/Phone# etc), our sales will help you calculate the total cost then generate an invoice for you. You may arrange payment to our PayPal or bank account at your convenience.

A digital proof will be generated based on your customization requirements then sent to you for your confirmation once we receive your payment.

HOW LONG WILL THIS GB LAST?
We would like to keep it in roughly 3 weeks to collect orders as many as possible since now, after that we’ll start production and stop taking new orders of the GB since we will not be able to insert any new orders to our imprint line once the production schedule is fixed and running.

Alternatively, you can still place custom orders with us and ship along with the GB bulk shipment with a lower shipping rate but pricing of the chips will be calculated separately without a discount.

THE PRESTIGE design will be available to purchase later on our retail website.
Hi I’m a new member. Sorry this may be a dumb question but I’m here for advice. Are these chips much better quality than a set of Majestics or Royals that I can get on Apache?

They are completely different from what you would get from Apache. The majestics and the Royals are China clays and are made of a completely different material. These are hybrid ceramic chips.

I have a set of Royals and I love playing with them. However I also love the feel of ceramics and since these can be semi-custom for an amazing price I decided to also buy a cash set.

If somebody put a gun to my head and said that I had to pick between my Royals or sunfly ceramics, I would probably choose my Royals. But that's not to say that they are necessarily better than these.

Material and production techniques are competely different, I'm sure Apache offers great quality clay chips while we focus on offering ceramic chips. It is hard to comapre, your question is a bit like PIZZA vs SUSHI, which is better? Well, of course the chef matters, I believe both Apache and SUN-FLY are good chefs, but again, you can not simply say PIZZA is better than SUSHI or the other way around.

I totally agree. It had to come down to what you like @GetUrShineBox. If you really like the feel of CC, Royals are amazing. If you love the feel of a full ceramic, ABC/BR Pro are your people. And if you love durability and low maintenance of a ceramic crossed with the look/feel of a ceramic chip with a label, SunFlys are fantastic.

I've been shuffling my Union Station Sunfly sample set for nearly a year, just waiting for when I can get in on a group buy. And I've got Paulsons, CCs, and full ceramics. This hybrid chip is like nothing I have.

We had a small game last night, universal love for the 43mm Sunflys. These have to be the best bang for the buck available. Only real question is if the design is appealing.

Yes that’s the thing.

Got it. So since I’m new to this. What is the most cost effective way of getting my hands on a sample of the different types?

That’s the thing. I’m not crazy about this specific design so am I SOL or is there a more plain looking chip available at a reasonable price? I’m new so not sure of the best sites to buy.

Definitely not a dumb question. I won't repeat what the others have already said. But the Pizza vs Sushi example was spot on. What I will say is the same thing I was told when I came on here about a month ago - before you make a big buy, get samples of everything you can! There are small differences between almost every chip. Even in just one category - say china clays - there are subtle and less than subtle differences. If you're picky like I am, and you think you want something very particular in a set of chips, then get a sample of something as similar as possible. There are other Sun-Fly chips that are almost identical to these prestige chips. Get some in your hands and decide if you're going to like them. Especially if you're going to customize them. Because if you don't like them, it will be pretty difficult to sell a poker ship if it has your name on it!

@SUN-FLY Poker Chips Is it possible to buy Union Station, Old School, or any other previous group buy hybrid chips and have it shipped with this order? If yes, do you have a rough price on the chips? I’m mainly interested in possibly getting a cash set for the 43mm Union Station hybrid.

It's doable, pricing would be different, please directly contact Susie regarding your custom order: susie.su@sun-fly.com

Royals and Majestics are what are known as China Clays, they're a good mid-priced chip. These are ceramic hybrids, in other words, they're made out of ceramic but have a label like a clay chip. It's a matter of personal preference but I have heard nothing but good things about Sunfly chips. I know full ceramics are higher quality and the sample set I have feel like much higher quality than China Clays.

It's doable, pricing would be different, please directly contact Susie regarding your custom order: susie.su@sun-fly.com

I'm trying to do this with the Midnight Casino chips if they can ship out with the Prestiges, first off because I only rent a room in Upland and I might not be able to store as many chips as needed for this and second, it would probably save all the people who ordered on shipping costs.

I plan on running a limited group buy for Prestige sample sets (at least enough to fill a single MFRB), and will have a sample set order thread up later this weekend.

It will include *at least* all fourteen non-custom 43mm chip designs, plus one each of the four different non-custom dealer buttons (although that may change due to space constraints).

Please do not pm me with requests or questions.

@SUN-FLY Poker Chips: Will 280 x 43mm chips plus 80 dealer buttons fit into one of your standard packing boxes destined to be reshipped as a MFRB?

If not, how many 43mm chips get displaced by a single dealer button? Or asked another way, how many 60mm dealer buttons will fit into your packing box?
Did you ever post a sample set order thread? I searched but didn't find one.

Personal opinion here, but quality ceramics are MUCH better than China Clay, in almost every capacity. EXCEPT it is possible to get really bright colours in a China Clay that is not totally reproducible in a dye sub printed ceramic.

Be advised that the Group Buy prices are only good for the initial group buy. Making a custom order after the sample sets are available in hand after initial shipping and production will cost more. And you're on your own for shipping. I don't want to sound like a high pressure salesman, but sometimes those are the breaks with these group buy enterprises.

Yes, I Understand. I've decided not to buy a full set, but would still like to get a sample set. I seem to be collecting a lot of sample sets lately. I was thinking there might be others who would want a sample set, but since that wouldn't meet the 100 chip minimum, I thought we might all group together into one order. I was going to post a thread to put something together myself when I noticed the above post by @BGinGA .

Understood. I would offer to do this except I'm in Canada (not practical for reshipping) and I've already got my hands full with a project for the Abbiati group buy.

Let's put it this way, @TX_Golf_N_Poker . It is theoretically possible to break a China clay with enough pressure, especially an inferior quality one like the Milanos.

Milanos, Majestics, Dunes, and the like can be broken and the label may come off with enough stress or resistance. I'm not saying this will happen but it certainly can. I think the Royals are a little more durable since they're 43mm chips, but I can't verify if you can break them the same way you can break a Dunes or a Majestic.

If you get a mid-quality ceramic (like a Scroll, a venerati or a howdy cowboy), you do run the risk of breaking the chip during regular use. it's sort of a trade off on only paying 39 cents a chip.

Full quality/ABC Ceramics and ceramic hybrids are virtually impossible to break unless you use external forces. I know that hobbyphilic put some Nevada Jack ceramics in a blender and broke the blender. Also in spite of its slightly lighter weight, he was unable to break a Sunfly ceramic hybrid excepting with a hammer. I own two sets of full ceramic (Wicked Spades and Dia De Los Muertos) and all I have to say is it would probably take an act of God to break them. The Sunfly's are of similar durability.

The only thing I haven't been able to do with my Sunfly ceramic set is stand them up on edge but other than that, they are extremely durable. I've seen images of people with literally hundreds of Sunfly chips piled up in a single column and they look so beautiful.

I'd suggest to settle down your custom order with Susie as soon as you can because she's handling most of our casino orders, I'm not fully aware of her order production sequence which means I'd need to coordinate your order with her, as well as the GB orders. We would not be able to hold the bulk GB shipment if your order comes in too late.

Got it. The deadline is in about two days, I will have totals for her Wednesday.

I've been waiting to get capacity numbers for boxing 60mm dealer buttons to verify what combinations of chips/buttons will fit in a single Sun-Fly packing box.

The Prestige collector set order thread will be posted later today. Each collector set will consist of one each of all fourteen 43mm Prestige chips and one each of all four styles of Prestige dealer buttons.

My bad - I've totally forgotten this, my colleague Amy has the figure. PM me your email, I'll ask her to send you the numbers.

What are you getting from them?

The details are in the threads in the Group Buy section. Myself, I am only getting some samples, but I have agreed to do some aftermarket chip modification to help customize some orders.

Yes, and are there buying / ordering opportunities still available?

No, this is long closed. However, I will have a few extra sample sets that I will make available to Canadian customers.

OK, thanks. So no opportunity to piggyback a small order of 39mm chips?

I may still consider a small order of my own then. If anyone else is interested in a small order of these (less than the 100 chip min) and hasn't already been able to piggyback onto anyone else's order, send me a PM. I will consider placing an order for any or all of the 32 unique chips and dealer buttons. US locations only please, unless you're willing to baby step me through the process of determining the costs and process of shipping outside of the US.
