I have coveted Bud Jones S chips for the last 20 years, ever since playing with them at Canterbury. But now, I have a matsui sample, and it feels amazing looks fantastic. Also, Abbiati chips seem to be the gold standard for plastics and they look drooly good.
How am I EVER supposed to put together a home game set? Guess I need to get Gemaco and Abbiati samples now.....eff......

I just got a sample set of Abbiati chips. They feel and look good. I talked to them last week and am placing an order with them directly. Very nice people to work with ( so far) .

Wait till you find out that each of the manufacturers you listed make different models of plastics that have slightly different feel, texture, and sound ;)

Long time Canterbury player here. I ended up getting the hybrids from Sun-Fly because I thought they were a pretty good emulation too. You can see the details in my signature ("Free River Club: Edition 2020.")

Always good to see Minnesotan's on PCF. Welcome aboard, DM me if you want to play in my home game in Burnsville sometime. All PCFers always welcome.

…don’t forget about Bourgogne & Grasset! :wow:

I’d say some really good deals can be had for plastic chips, at least compared to the clay market. Be aware that price differences for sets don’t necessarily translate to a difference in quality, but often is just a function of how the sets came into our little hobby. Former casino chips go usually cheaper than sets from group buys where we had to pay full retail.

They will do a small order for 1 person? Or are you doing a huge order?

Dude awesome. Would love to join your home game some time. I'll check out your sig I've never heard of those from Sun-Fly.

Alas I did realize that, thus the rabbit hole opens even more.

Speaking of rabbit holes, here is a link to the most amazing dessert chef ever on masterchef australia, thought you'd all want to know.

They will do individual orders. Small ones as well. but they do have minimum order on custom color chips (1000 per color way) otherwise they charge you a minimum charge per color combo. but they also have stock colors chips with no minimum order quantity. They still add up fast with shipping and other fees they charge.

You just buy a set made from every type of chip!

Abbiati group buys have been organized before. Look up Crowne Plaza and Park Place. They are weighted chips, 11.5g.
mmmmm yes weighted plastics are my favorite, I might just have to build a set of all the companies haha.

a bit rando you know about reynold.

his restaurant koi experiential now offers a complete desert degustation!
Reynold is an inspiration, I first ran into him watching Gordon Ramsay critique his dish, "White Noise", on MSA, you should check out the clip on youtube if you haven't seen it. I hope to visit his restaurant someday.
