If you can find old RHC chips with textured inlays, they are close to THC chips in feel and shuffle. But they are rare, and RHC chips with smooth inlays feel cheap to me and seem to get flea bites on mint chips when you use them much more easily.

Leaded textured RHC are something special.... I had 2 shuffle stacks of broken in PCA roulettes and these shuffled like butter....

Only RHC (lead & texture) I own are PCA $1 (pri & sec) & Sheraton roulettes...both are some of the best RHC I ever touched.
I also have a set of Mesquite Stars but while Nevada OG...they are not in the same league

Get both! RHC is too prone to wearing down with the hats so close to the edge. I only have an RHC set b/c I wanted to have 1 of each. If I had to get rid of a set, it would be my RHCs, not my THCs.

Absolutely. Some are great, others are horrendous. Design/aesthetics and sound/feel are all over the map.

I think Paulson web molds are more readily available than Paulson diamond molds.

And the Paulson web molds that you'd be able to get (i.e. Scandia, etc.) are probably in much better condition than the Paulson diamonds that you'd be able to get (mostly miscellaneous, well used solids).
