What chips have you sold that you regret? Why did they go?

Back in 2008 I was a care free student playing poker and gambling every day and the money was flowing nicely. I wasn't balling hard, but had a decent amount of spare cash. I decided I wanted to buy a decent tournament set and fell in love with solid chips. Much hassle and tax later I'd accumulated a beautiful solid BCC tournament set here in the UK.

Playing with them was amazing. God damn they look incredible!

I then stopped playing poker and they were stored away for years. Finally last year I had some financial issues and had to sell them (they were sold on here). I wasn't all that bothered as I hadn't cared about poker for a while and was glad for the money.

Fast forward a year later. I've been promoted, and now have a poker YouTube channel that doubles my income, so I am in a great financial position.

More importantly, I've fallen in love with poker again and my chip addiction has come back with a vengeance! However, although now I could afford to buy another set like this, I'm having a hard time justifying it, and probably won't, instead just waiting for if anything half decent pops up in the UK.

Feel sad I might never own another set like that!

Interested to hear other people's stories.

800 set of secondary PCAs with the Apache gb quarters, which I had to sell to fund a holiday, whilst finishing uni a few years back. I loved those chips so much.

I’ve bought and sold a few sets in the last year trying to replace them with something that I love as much and have thus far failed miserably. I’ve wasted hundreds of dollars on shipping and reduced prices to sell.

I’ve got some AS chips now still inbound, which after all this time I hope will alleviate the pain. You never quite know until you get them in your hands.

They will at least solve the only problem that bugged me about the PCA set. The mixed mold quarters and RHC dollars.

Here’s to hoping they turn out to be what I’m looking for.

I was remodeling and needed some money so I sold my PCA secondary tourney set. Man they were great chips.

I bought and later sold not one, but two different decent-sized sets of PCA secondaries (had trouble justifying the high cost both times), until I finally figured out that I was really just renting them. I've since purchased two more sets and some extra racks along the way, and they ain't goin' no-where this time.

Minor regret for the big Empress set I sold to Scott, but they weren't mint, so that's okay. I do miss the RVCL chips, but they are now in a better place, as is the Grand Casino Biloxi hot-stamped tourney set. I try to give them good homes. :)

Had a full sample set of Deadwood TRKs once upon a time. Wish I still had them. No regrets otherwise, since I've not owned much that was worth regretting.

I guess the moral of this story... don’t sell your PCAs (4 of 7 posters above conclude the same)!!

Edit: And to add, I too sold some of mine, regretted it almost immediately, went on the hunt to get them back, and ended up paying even more the 2nd time around
