@bentwookie2 @toynoob These were chips I stumbled upon from an old dealer that didnt get some of his tip chips returned before the casino closed. I bought them because they came with $1 Empress Joliet chips and those were the true treasure I was looking for :)

Time for a new card capper...

Nice Tangiers dealer button @anotherdaydown ... What's the back story on it? I have a set on the way to me now that has Tangiers on it with a certified letter it came as a movie prop from the movie Casino. It's coming in a huge lot and not something I'm generally interested in purchasing. Is this dealer button themed after the movie ?

Sounds very cool! Show off your goods for us when they come in?

I got the buttons from Gene @ABC Gifts and Awards (great dude, btw), he's one of the site vendors that can be found in the Marketplace section. I'm not sure the backstory(if any) other than what's in the post in the thread I've linked here:

"The following are extras and overruns of Old West 60mm dealer buttons. "

When Sal (RIP) from Old West Poker Supplies decided to make their first run of hybrid chips, he asked the community what they would like to see in a design. The group-think came down with multiple ideas, and the Mayfair (based off the famous underground NY club), Havana (based off pre-Castro Cuban clubs) and the Tangiers (taken from the 1995 movie Casino) were born.

I'm proud to say the Tangiers idea was mine, but Sal's design was perfect for reflecting the era the movie represented.

After Sal passed (rather unexpectedly) Gene and ABC picked up the stock.

That's excellent background from both of you, thanks a ton! Any idea what the hot stamped, movie prop sample set is worth that is coming my way? I plan to release it auction style to PCF members with the proof of authenticity.

As with anything, prices are set by what a buyer is willing to pay. Around here sets and buildable sets sell for more, because we use the chips we buy. However, someone looking to dress-up a man-cave might have some interest, as would some of the members that belong to the CCGTCC, that collect more singles and non-custom sample sets.

Unfortunately nothing has changed since Monday, was hoping this package was going to be on its way west before the weekend. It’s a long wait for this one from Germany.

New goodies in the mail!! Well two boxes were picked up from a local troop. Still quality though.

Piker! A real box of Thin Mints contains twelve of those packages.

I'd expect a real chipper to collect several vintages of Thin Mints from both GS cookie manufacturers, for purposes of comparison. They don't take up much room in the freezer at all.

Or so I hear.
