I seen a couple of our guys in our local $1/$1 home cash game cash out for $1200.

I’m not sure how much this person cashed out but the biggest pot I have seen in 1/2 NLHE at a casino was around 3k at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
Haha, used to have a big home game but wife and life got in the way. Now wife is gone and kids are grown...so getting back into it.

I was thinking the same thing.
I ran $160 up over $1,200 twice when I use to frequent the casino.
$1/$2 has since gone the way of the dinosaurs. Now the casino spreads $1/$3. Much better game IMO.
To the O.P.'s question: I can't recall with accuracy the amount of money I have seen a player accrue playing $1/$2 prior to cashing out.
However, I did witness a player turn his $300 buy-in into $2,300 plus at the $1/$3 table last year in roughly 5.5. hours. That was impressive.

I've seen someone go up over $1,300 in a 10¢/20¢ online, friendly game.
