I can't believe they only donate $500 a month week to the charity mentioned in the article when their drop is likely 7+5 compared to most casino poker rooms doing 5+1.

Also, they surely are de-cluttering the poker scene, making way for both:

Headwaters Resort and Casino in Norfolk: https://www.headwatersresortcasino.com/

BTW, we have a team standing by for harvesting! :cool

I wish they’d allow charity poker rooms in MA. They could rake less than Encore and still dress those orphans in Armani.
Manchvegas area isn't that much of a haul. Haven't been to Seabrook in a while but I heard the place is much nicer and the poker is much worse.

Oh some Vegas outfit took over seabrook, and it’s beautiful. They even have Paulsons. Problem is they stopped doing tournaments, and that’s my thing. At this point I have to drive all the way to Manchester for regular cheapo tournaments.

I haven't been to Chasers in Salem in a while. My friend has been crushing the tournies in Dover lately. Same group that runs the Filtomo or whatever room in Manchester. I just don't get done work early enough to make the drive down.

they basically do. eastern poker tour is a carryover from the old charity games (same people running it, i used to be a dealer for them). they run tournaments, and also spread $1/$2 NL. there is one at the VFW in the town over from me every week.

Right, we were talking about that at @sheikh617 game last month. One of his regs is like an organizer for them. I think the nearest one to me is probably like a half hour away, but I should still check it out.

Glenn from Gorilla Gaming runs the EPT. I’ve always wondered how they spread 1/2 NL legally even in MA, even years before the casinos were there..

yep, i know one of his partners, craig. he used to run charity poker something-or-other (the names escapes me), who i used to deal for, and which rolled into EPT.

i also have no idea how they still pull off 1/2. back when i dealt for them, it was only tournaments.

*edit* just came to me - "helping hands poker" was the charity gig that rolled into EPT.

So does this have any effect on home games in Virginia assuming they meet other requirements (such as infrequent, no-rake, etc...)?
