Hello my fellow PCFers,

Many of you may know me way back as one of your custom chip hobbyist. I’ve just logged into this site not too long ago. Recently I’ve been scanning over numerous old and new photos of all the custom chips and realized the amount of amazing work being produced. I have decided to create a photo album / chip encyclopedia to contain all the beautiful custom chips and their background information. Previously I have created my architectural portfolio in similar fashion. I also created many albums as a memorabilia of my world travels and was hoping to do the same for poker chips. The album will be created on Adobe Indesign and designed for an 8x8 hard cover book. This will be an ongoing project and I have no intentions of producing a hard-copy print any time soon. However, every time I finish one chapter (one chip series) I will save it to a pdf format and send it out to anyone that wants a copy (just think of it as a forum newspaper). Please check the attached for an example of the print layout. Once members have accumulated enough prints that meet their desire they can take the files to any local album shop and have their own book printed. If you want to know where I get mine printed I can pass that information via PM. Again, I am only doing this as a hobby and have no specific time-frame for each chapter. For those that would like to contribute and have their chips included please see the following for a list of information needed. Please note that the following is just an example. Members can send more or less information as they desire. I will only use what you send.

Photos
Send whatever photos and scans of what you would like to include in this book (preferably high resolution). Note that the materials do not have to be the final product. They can include sketches, notes, and anything that contributed to the final outcome.

Will you be selling the book to PCF members?

Now I am sad I have not yet made a custom set to be able to get into this book.

No I will not be selling anything. I am only creating the template so individuals can have them printed off if they choose to. As stated I'm happy to recommend a printing company if anybody ask.

I like to add that these prints are for everyone and not just members submitting their work. I am working on some details with Tommy. Basically, every time I finish off a chapter (chip series) I will upload it here and folks can download it.

Wonderful idea. Please let me know how to sign up to receive the email updates and thank you for being so generous in offering to share!

Thanks. Tommy messaged me earlier and said something about setting up a Resource / Folder where I can update my finish product and members can just download it at their free will.

The presentation on that is amazing.

For entries would you want us to respond here with the necessary information?

Whatever suits you. I would just cut and paste the example template I posted and replace my information with yours. Remember you can provide more or less information. It's completely up to you. I will work with what you give me. You can post it here or send it to me via PM.

Thank you for taking the time to do this. I do fear it may become somewhat overwhelming though!

Thanks for the concern. It will be fine. Like I mentioned earlier this is an ongoing project with no deadlines. It's strictly my hobby and will be done at a leisurely pace. There are a few old school classics that I MUST HAVE in this book where the owners are no longer a part of the chip community. These will require a little more research on my part.

I just liked every one of your posts in this thread because there is no "Love" button.

And that gorgeous dinner party and poker game was amazing!

Edit: Those chips are fantastic!

This will be a beautiful encyclopedia by the time it's halfway complete, terrific idea! Looking forward to contributing and following the development.

You've no doubt seen this thread, so members like @jbutler and @toad94 and others will be helpful in your quest.

Hey man. Long time no see.

Thanks for the link. WOW, that was extremely helpful. Alittle bit overwhelming to be honest. I almost got a stroke strolling through all those great photos. It's funny, I was listening to Sukiyaki (Ue o muite Aruko) as I was scrolling through that post and it brought tears to my eyes. (not sure if you are familiar but it's a famous Japanese song that has been converted to many languages including English. Basically it's about going down memory lane)

lol, yes it's quite a thread.

Glad you found us. Good to have you here, VR. (y)
